I do not know when it was imported to Canada, but it has had two owners since since being here. It is over 25 years old and is exempt from odometer conversion and the current delay in importing cars to the US from Canada. 1989 is, by far, the best year for the 964 because it has no airbags (awesome steering wheel), no ESC and no annoying immobilizer. It's a PURE European specification 911 with all-wheel drive technology derived from the legendary Porsche 959, built for Racing/Paris Dakar rally. I had this Carrera 4 metered in 64 spots all over the body. The mean reading is 5.15 Mils (thou), the average reading is just 2.83 Mils, the lowest was 2.4 Mils and the highest was 16.2 Mils. Only 8 of the 64 readings were over factory tolerances and those were all on a rear quarter panel. Doors, hood, trunk, roof, sunroof, window surrounds, both fenders and the other quarter are completely original. A reading of 16.2 Mils is still incredibly low and indicates a light blending and re-clear. No filler. It was probably scratched and re-painted. They did not blend into the door or trunk. It is incredibly rare to find any 911 with this much original paint in as nice condition as it is on this car. It still has great shine and lustre, no fading in paint or clear coat anywhere on the body. This 964 comes complete with it's original factory jack, spare wheel, complete tool kit, owner’s manual in pouch. There is an extra set of carpets with "Carrera 4" in red thread. These are in really good condition. The original carpets underneath are like new. Floors are clean and dry. There is no evidence of fenders, doors, quarters, hood, trunk ever being removed. No evidence of accidents, all panels are straight and gaps are even throughout. Mechanically this 964 C4 has been very well cared for. At 86,000 km (53,500 miles) the engine was completely rebuilt, top and bottom end. It idles beautifully, warms up and runs smoothly. Clutch is like-new, brakes are strong and don't squeak. You have lots of pedal for both. Acceleration is very smooth. There are no active warning lights for either the engine or all-wheel drive system. Copies of receipts for the engine work are at the end of the gallery below. They total $24,848.03. The first 964s available in 1989 were all wheel drive equipped "Carrera 4" models; Porsche added the rear wheel drive Carrera 2 variant to the range in 1990. Both variants were available as a coupe, Targa or Cabriolet. A new naturally aspirated engine called the M64 was used for 964 models, with a flat-6 displacement of 3.6 litres. Porsche substantially revised the suspension, replacing torsion bars with coil springs and shock absorbers. Power steering and ABS brakes were added to the 911 for the first time; both were standard. The exterior bumpers and fog lamps became flush with the car for better aerodynamics. A new electric rear spoiler raised at speeds above 50 mph (80 km/h) and lowered down flush with the rear engine lid at lower speeds.
