This is an early (pre-500th) Porsche 912, uilt July 1st 1965, n the Porsche factory, ot outsourced to the Karmann factory as many were. This car has the highly sought after and quite rare painted 3 gauge dash. This car was special ordered with the upgraded 5 speed 902/1 gear box (matching #), n original AM/FM/Short Wave Radio, rish Green 6406 L Pain, lack seats, ay light mirror, assenger sun visor with mirror, nd Passenger Schlumber Roll (missing, ut has brackets). As a European delivery car, t was first delivered to the D'Ieteren Belgium Porsche dealership. It may have been an order, fly and drive" car, s it seems to have been ordered in 64. The car was shipped to PC Imports in the US. Not much is known of the first owner, Mr W. Whitfield who brought it in for only one service at PC Imports November 5th 1965. The car spent a long time with an owner in upstate New York. Here it was exposed to the NE winters and now has rust in floors and suspension pans. Fortunately most or the panels to repair this car are now available. 3 or the wheels are date stamped 11/64, ne is 1/66 and the spare is 5/66. Come with a copy of the factory Kardex, nd a beautiful original owners manual, nd a jack. The car does come with pair of correct 4 screw hole horn grills. As the early first year models of all sports cars are highly desirable, specially in the Porsche market, his car should appreciate in value over time. The car is missing the original engine; however, t does come with a 912 block and a set of piston and cylinders.
