Purchased this car in 2004.Had a long restoration done to it. Since then I drove it only about 300 miles. It has sat inthegarage forthelast three years. Time for a new home.Idon'tknow themileage. Thespeedometerin it wasthewrong one so I could not trustthemileageon it. The service records fromCaliforniasaid it had over 100,000 miles on it. After the complete restoration, bought the correctspeedometerthatgoeswiththatcar and it redsthemileageI put on sincetherestoration.I had allthework done by shops recommended bythePCA.Motor was rebuilt from top to bottom. Heads were rebuilt. All new bearing, prings and valves. Work done by the Werk shoppe in Melbourne, l. 300 miles on car since. All new clutch and pressure plate.New AC lines and compressor. All new fuel lines. Restored gas tank. Fuel distributor was rebuilt. All new engine wiring harness. All that nasty old wiring is mostly gone.SSI heat exchangers and new loud Dansk muffler for that added Horse Power. Sounds great!Motor was installed and assembled into car by Troy sport in Orlando, lorida.Body has new black paint. Work done by D&G in Longwood, l. Paint is good. Some imperfections but I would give it a 90%. Main issue isthepassengerdoor has some orange peal onthelowerpart ofthedoor. A few spots here and there but the car's paint impresses still.Interior has new carpet. New Floor mats. New dashboard wrapped in leather. Fresh door panels. Seats are off a 1985 Carrara and has power. I had the seats lowered and inch to accommodate my large body. All new body seals, askets and trim. The Targa top was restored by Cars n top in NJ. There is a fit issue where the passenger window doesn't fully slip into the top. Pick shows this. Told the front seal needs to be trimmed and window adjusted. i tried butcouldn'tfix it. Need a pro to align all that.Tires have excellent tread. There is a flat spot asthecar sat for a few years. Up to you to see if that isOKor if you want new rubber. Drives great other wise. The wheels are in great shape and original. The suspension was not restored. As you can see, am honest about this car. It is a great car and an excellent example of an early 80's Targa. I rate it higher than most of those other ones out there. What you get here is a car that has beenrestored100% mechanically by some ofthebest Porsche shops in Florida. New paint and new or restored interior. Little issues? yes. Added interior pics. No speakers in doors as I leave your sound system choice up to you. Never liked the idea of sound in this Porsche as the sound of the motor and exhaust as well as the sound of the wind through the open top is a joy.Added a youtube video so you can hear it start and see the gauges work at:https://youtu.be/AqL_v8m5k4g

9/21/15I was asked whatpromptedme to restore the car. Well, wanted a car that I could put in my garage and work on on my own. I searched for aprojectcar (Cheap) that I could restore myself.(LOL). This car was a daily diver but had some issues. There was some damage totherear rightquarterand there was some rust atthebase ofthetarga bar and driversdoorbottom.. Instead of Bondo onthedoor,I sourceda used clean doorandreplacedtherusted door with it. The targa bar rust was repaired and the targa bar was welded new.The previous owner painted it an awful red color. The interior was brown but in awful condition. The dash was trash, theseats were garbage. Themotorblew smoke. After I tookthemotor out I realized the job was too big for me. I sent the motor out while the car went tothebody shopbecausethe project just overwhelmed me. in the end, did spend a lot (over $30,000 on car and restoration) but, n the end, t came out so much better than what i could do myself. especially mechanically. I get raves onthestrengthand performance and quality of this motor.I then spent a year sourcing replacement parts. I used many ofthesame places all of you know about. I spent a fortune at Pelican parts and other places. I hadthedash, enterconsuland door tops all wrapped in black leather. I bought newdoorcards used. All new German carpeting and mats.I went from a crappy brown destroyed interior to a fresh black one.I sent in for anauthenticationcertificate to Porsche. I spentthe$90 but it came back with little information. It was black with brown. I change it from red with brown to black with black. I did not bring it back to original astheoriginalpaintwas already gone and the browninteriorwas trash. So I started over on a interior color for Florida.. Black!!!The top needed to be restored so I sent it out tothedefinitive and trusted targa top guy in NJ. All new liner, aint and skin. Totally restored. Now, he right window, hen fully up, oes not sit intothetop's seal. It rides and sets againsttheoutside. I tried to adjustthewindow myself buy I am no pro. I calledthetop guy in NJ and he saysthenew seals that Porsche sells are too large indiameterand do not meet original spec. It needs to be trimmed. He said this was a common issue. I punted on this as i did not want to screw up it up as I am all thumbs. The fit never was a problem and itcausedme no issues but, or a buyer and full disclosure, ou will need some one to fit thisnicely. So, think I have all your questions answered here.I know you will love this car. Good restoration. Excellent Mechanically and electrically. Looks great.Al
