Stunning 57 late T1 Sunroof with it's original engine, estored to concours level, y marque experts. This bare metal restoration has the finest original pieces and parts back on it after restoration. It is as delivered new, nd therefore runs and drives wonderfully. The Porsche Factory Kardex shows July 1957 completion.The restoration consisted of the following:- Body was disassembled, edia blasted, he floor was replaced, long with longitudinals, losing panel bottoms and battery box floor. Basic, ormal stuff for a 356 almost 60 years old! All metal is as new. Work was done by a marque expert. The underneath of the car was epoxy primered, oated with Wurth underseal, hen painted black. The car has all the correct waffle cone patterned insulation inside the cabin, he front hood area and rear engine compartments.- The transmission was redone by Vic Skirmants. The case was prepped, new bearings and synchros with all plating redone to original. Vic has done around 3,000 of these in his life, nd is considered the best choiceOriginal nuts and bolts were saved and refurbished.- The engine was rebuilt and dynoed by Ron Chuck Engineering, ho has been doing these engines for 45 years. The engine features it's correct 1600 N pistons and cylinders, hich were honed and fitted. Over $10,000 was spend on outside engine machining contracting(distributor, arburetors, ase, eads, ods, rankshaft, tc. All internal moving components were balanced to within a half of a gram, hich is tighter tolerance than original. The end to end runout on the crankshaft is under 2 ten thousandths of an inch......so it's straight.....and isn't cracked.......and is balanced(along with the flywheel and pressure plate)! German Precision did all the head work, hich consisted of new guides, eats, alves and re-cc'd combustion chambers so they each matched the other. The result is an extremely smooth running, erfectly balanced engine. All plating is correct and original.- The front suspension has been completely rebuilt featuring new tie rod ends, rebuilt steering box, new shocks and steering dampener. Link and king pins were first magna fluxed, traightness checked on an original Factory jig, hen carefully honed for a prefect pressed together fit. Stoddards/NLA provided all original NOS parts for this as well as the rest of the car. The car was then professionally 4 wheel aligned.- The tires are new period correct radials on newly triple chromed wheels. The entire assembly was then balanced.- The car has all new wheel bearings, rake shoes, esleeved and rebuilt wheel cylinders and master cylinder. The drums were turned.- Glass is new with the exception of the rear window, hich is a very nice original. The 1/4 window frames were rechromed too.- The interior is beautiful having been fabricated by Autos International. The seat rails were all rebuilt, nbsp;as well as the reclining mechanism, ncluding rechroming. The window frames were rechromed beautifully, nd at great expense. These are difficult to do properly, nd were done by Christensen's Plating in LA. The original red vinyl was upgraded to red leather, iving the car a spectacular presence coupled with it's original black exterior, nd the chrome pieces and parts on the interior and exterior. All inside and outside brightwork was done by Victor Miles of Concours Refinishing, lso at great expense. A partial list includes, ights, urn signal unit, teering wheel, orn ring, ear shine up license light, 7 only odd square door handles, ood handle and all switches, evers, tc.- Palo Alto Speedometer rebuilt all the gauges which work perfectly.- A new wiring harness was supplied by Y & ZThis was a reasonably straight forward restoration, s the car was a good candidate prior to disassembly. The restoration was managed by a long time restorer, nd as you can see, xperts were used throughout, ielding a rare car, significant cut above the rest! This is a show caliber car that can be enjoyed and driven to club events, r wherever you'd like. It's particularly desirable with the black exterior, ed interior and the Factory Sunroof(the copy of the original Kardex shows it!). If you see this car you will be surprised at the level of restoration. No expense was spared when doing it. The car is currently located in Hickory, C, ear Charlotte, C should you want to visit it prior to purchasing. This car is a gem!
