Though many see the 1973 Porsche Carrera RS as the quintessential Porsche RS, he iconic badge dates back to 1957, ix years before the original 911 was launched with the 718 RSK open wheel race car that went on to win the 1958 and 1959 European Hill Climb Championship. Thirty one years after the first RennSport, aw the return of the Carrera RS with the 964-generation 911, he first redesigned 911 since 1963. Initially Porsche felt the car's aggressive tuning was not suited to the American market, ut by 1993 Porsche had decided to build a limited amount of US-legal version dubbed RS America. Exterior. This RS America, ssembled on August 21st of 1992 was originally ordered in Polar Silver Metallic which was one of two optional metallic colors available for The RS. The seventeen-inch light alloy Turbo design wheels, re wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires that have great tread depth. This Porsche's 964 body and paint are in phenomenal condition for being 23 years old.

Interior. The interior of this RS America consists of black leatherette with corduroy inserts with blue seat belts and door straps that came with the Polar Silver exterior. Driver comfort features were initially minimized on the RS, ut a few items were offered as options such as AM/FM radio with cassette player, ir conditioner with full climate control, nd Electric sliding sunroof which this Porsche all has and function perfectly. The interior condition is astounding and is a perfect example of how well maintained this RS is.

Performance. This RS Americas 247Hp 3.6L Flat-six engine mated to the close ratio 5 speed gearbox does not skip a beat and has been religiously serviced throughout its 50k original miles. The neutral handling comes from the M030 Suspension package that was standard on the RS and included Firmer Springs, hocks, thicker sway bar from the 911 Turbo. The model did offer an option for Limited Slip Differential, ut this particular Porsche was built without it. The aluminum Brembo calipers and vented rotors provide exceptional braking power, nd were completely serviced at 47k miles.
