Car description

Here's the story... I bought this car in 2008 in Southern California and drove it up here. It was a very nice California car that had just gone through a 90% restoration, nd I was planning on setting it up for autocross. I drove it around for a few weeks, oved, nd didn't have space for it. I "temporarily" put it into storage outdoors, nd between all my other projects just kind of forgot about it and never got around to pulling it back out. Now I have even less space than before and no time to play with it, o I'm cutting my (significant) losses and letting it go as is. As you would expect it didn't like being stored outdoors, ut other than cosmetically I expect it wouldn't be all that much to get it running strong and looking great again. Here's my big disclaimer for the following description. I'm not a 914 guy, 'm a Jeep guy, nd I didn't have time to really snoop around and inspect everything. So when I say that it has something, 'm basing that off of what the seller told me and what I found in the stack of receipts I was handed. The guy was a 914 nut and seemed to know his stuff, ut again, didn't verify any of it and won't be held responsible if anything isn't accurate. Sounds bad, know, 'm just being brutally honest. As far as I can tell it is an awesome car with lots of potential. The good:* Clear title in my name and in hand.* CA plates are still on the car, ut I have the new WA plates I never installed. It's registered in WA in my name but expired in 2013.* Previous owner said it's a 2.0 engine (has an expired CA emissions cert and other receipts stating 2.0, ut a couple other receipts say 1.8. I never verified the code on the engine but am almost positive it is still the 2.0).* Original fuel injection. People go to carbs when they can't get the original FI sorted out, ut right before I bought it a Cali 914 guru went through it and it ran awesome when I parked it. The original FI is rare, aluable, nd runs awesome when put together by someone who knows what they're doing.* Have big stack of receipts for maintenance and parts.* Have recent receipt (recent before I bought it) for new springs and Koni adjustable rear shocks. Can't guarantee they're still on there, idn't look (or even know what they'd look like). I'm only less than 100% sure because the previous owner had multiple 914s and likely was swapping parts all over the place.* Have recent receipt for new brakes, lutch, lignment, isc. stuff like tie rod ends, tc.* Can't find the original pictures, ut right before I bought it it got all new engine tins, uspension bushings, ll kinds of stuff. It seriously got stripped down to nothing and rebuilt. Felt nice and tight when I drove it from CA to WA.* 5 lug conversion with (I'm assuming replica) Fuchs rims painted to match the body.* Has 911 dashboard conversion. Don't see this often, really liked the difference it made.* Really dirty in the pictures, ut the seats were professionally recovered right before I bought it. That's new vinyl, t's just filthy and I ran out of time.* I bought a box of brand new chrome Porsche letters for the engine lid and put them in the trunk. There's some other miscellaneous uninstalled trim and parts in there.* Color matched Rhino lined rocker panels. I prefer the chrome, ut this should hold up better to rock chips.* I forget the color name (Arctic Blue?) but that is the original color.* Ran awesome when I parked it. Started right up and didn't smoke. Needed to be warmed up, ut hey, t's an old German car.The bad:* Someone stole the car cover off of it at some point, o that didn't help the paint.* Again, t's been sitting uncovered outdoors. I think it has awesome potential and shouldn't need a lot of work, ut it is what it is.* Whoever painted it before I bought it didn't prep it well. As seen in the photos, heres rust bubbles, aint cracks, nd general signs of needing paint. It's a nice 20 footer, ut it'll need to be stripped and painted to be really nice again. That said, he paint in the front and rear trunks actually looks very nice and held up well. Maybe just needs the outside sanded down and sprayed.* Some punk smashed the cowl in at the base of the windshield. The windshield seems fine, nd it was the only vandalism. Weird. All other panels are straight.* Obviously it'll need new tires and all new fluids.* It leaked oil from I believe the speedometer sender when I parked it, o it'll need that seal.* The drivers seat internal shell or frame broke on the right side and I had to wedge a CD case behind the seat to keep it from reclining back. I don't know what's involved in fixing that or if the new vinyl seat upholstery can be reused after taking it apart.* I remember the speedometer needle wandering around a bit, robably needs a new cable?* Headlights flipped up and down fine when I parked it, ut I remember one of them being dim. I believe they were converted to H4 by the original owner, was just going to run fresh power wire off a relay to them.TERMS:* $200 non-refundable deposit due immediately via PayPal.* Remaining balance to be paid within 7 days by bank transfer only. No, won't take Nigerian Naira and I don't care if your cousin is a billionaire prince there.* Sold as-is with no warranty explicit or implied.* It is the buyer's responsibility to transport the vehicle out of the storage facility after purchase. I don't know much about towing rear engine/tranny cars but I'd reccomend flatbed towing.* No refunds. I strived to be brutally honest with the description so that the right buyer would snatch it up. I really want to see the car in the right hands.* The storage facility isn't very local to me, o I'm not available to show the car for potential buyers. Once purchased, can be available to meet either at the car or at the department of licensing, r both.* Transaction must be performed locally. If you're not local, ou'll need to meet here to sign off on paperwork, tc. Sorry, 'm just heading off scams anywhere I can anticipate them.* If vehicle is being shipped, t is the buyers responsibility to arrange for shipment and put it on the truck.
