Car description |
---|
1969 Porsche 911S targa 2.0 liter mechanically injected with factory Air Conditioning. This is probably the nicest looking targa I have ever seen due to the color combination. VIN number 119310238
I have the Porsche issued "Certificate of Authenticity" which is posted here and I also have the Porsche factory Kartex (Kardex) as well. Both show thisautomobileleaving Stuttgart with factory Air Conditioning which makes this 911S even more rare. Car also left the factory with a passenger side view mirror which I did not put back on the car due to personal preference but is included with the sale and can easily be put back on.
Carhas been re-sprayedin its original color of Burgundy Red and the paint is beautiful. The targa top was nice but from sitting for so many years the material was brittle so along with the steering wheel was sent to Tony's for recovering as factory original.
Interior is original with the exception of the carpets and the radio. Seats are not perfect but very nice and since they are original to the car I chose not to touch them. The dash has a small crack between the speaker grill and air vent butit is very nice otherwise and original. The coco mats have some wear but the carpet underneath is perfect. The door panels pockets arevery nice .
The car has factory A/C but I have not made it operational. All the equipment is in the "smugglers box" and the compressor is mounted.
The transmission is factory original to the car and matches the COA and Kardex. The engine has no numbers on it but the date code of the case and heads (Oct of 1968 for heads and Sept of 68 for case) are correct forthe cars production date January of 1969.Both case halves are stamped "799". Case casting is 901.101.101.2R, am Towers is 901.105.111.0RI asked an ex Porsche factory executiveif it is possible that the engine could have been over looked for stamping and he says "no" so I will haveto assume the engine was replaced at some point even though the date codesare very close to the cars production date of January 1969 per the Kardexandthe POhas statedthe engine was in the car since at least 1980 when it was bought from the original owners family. This car sat after the original owner passed away so if the engine was replaced I would assume it was done by a Porsche dealer via warranty early on in its life.
Odometer shows 61,700 miles and is believed to be original to the car.
When I bought this 911 it had webers on itbut the original born with NFI was available which I secured.I took the Bosch pump to Gus at Pacific Fuel Injection and he serviced the pump which was in excellent shape. The carbs were removed as were the injector plugs from the heads and the original born with MFI was reinstalled on the engine.
This is a super nice car. It had a little rust by one of the front control arm torsion bar mounts so I had the "horse shoe" replaced professionally.
Car has 15 x 6 deep Fuchs with Michelin XWX tires but the tires are old. I have driven on them but I am stating they should be replaced.
I reserve the right to end the auction early if it has not met reserve as the car is for sale via other media
I will assist with shipping at buyers cost. Should anyone have questions or wish to see other photos please feel free to email me at kaiser858 at American On Line dot com
