Car description

1979 Pontiac Trans-Am T-Top Automatic With Pontiac Engine Replacing the Original Olds 403! Low ReserveThese Trans Am's are hot right now...selling for between 15-25K restored! You can own this for a fraction of that and build the value by sweat equity. I bought this car this winter and worked on it with my son. The seller did not disclose that it needed a new engine, o we purchased a rebuilt Pontiac V-8 to deliver the power it deserved. We installed the engine back in February and I went to start it up for the first time 2 weeks ago...pumped the gas twice and with about 5 cranks of the starter the car fired right up and purred like an angry kitten.Running project car that needs finishing. No time to complete...too many projects. This car has a bunch of new parts and recent work including:
  • Freshly rebuilt Pontiac V-8
  • Freshly rebuilt Turbo 350 Transmission
  • Accel High Energy Coil
  • High Energy Spark Plug Wires
  • Aluminum Intake and Double Pump Carb
  • Dual Remote Oil Filter Set-Up
  • New Radiator
  • New Master Cylinder
  • New Front Brakes
  • New Rear Brakes
  • New Brake Lines
  • Headers
  • New Custom Exhaust-Sounds Fantastic
  • Autometer Tach with Shift Light
  • Mechanical Temp and Oil Pressure Gauges

This Trans-Am has the tough Limited Slip Differential and Stock Gold Honeycomb Rims.

The car is not far from being road ready. It can use some attention to the suspension (shocks and springs are tired especially in the rear). The engine runs like a top but it is running warm for some reason. We did not seem to have an issue when we put the engine in, ut we used the the old thermostat that was in the intake on the old engine, suspect that could be the problem but I am not sure. I do not have any more time to investigate. The car runs and lot drives and will need to be hauled home. The car is originally a mid-west car and has rust...see pictures. I welcome and encourage personal inspection before bidding.

I have tried to describe the car to the best of my ability. If the Buy-It-Now is used, will include the Pontiac 400 we replaced-it was a good running engine but it had bad cam bearings. I will also through in another set of Honeycomb wheels with the Buy-It-Now.

Car is a project being sold as-is with no warranty. Look at the pictures to see what the car is. It has an older repaint and is showing its age...again, ee the pictures.
