Car description

Up for sale is a 1970 Pontiac GTO in rare Mint Turquoise. I purchased this car in September 2015 with roughly 26k original miles on it and performed a comprehensive frame-on restoration. I am the third owner, and the fellow I purchased it from bought it from the estate of the original owner. I have New Jersey state inspection receipts dating back to 1979 documenting the mileage. I also have the original Protect O Plate, as well as various receipts and other items I found while disassembling the car
I removed the front clip, removed the interior and sent the car to the body shop. I had the body and paint done using PPG base/clear. New hood, new front fenders and new P/S quarter panel were installed at that time. All new glass, except the original defrost rear window, was installed at the body shop as well.
After I got the body back, I removed the front and rear suspension to detail the underside. The undercoating was removed and revealed a very clean underside. The control arms and rear axle were wire wheeled and painted semi gloss black. I installed new springs and reproduction spiral shocks.
I replaced the head gaskets, water pump gaskets and intake manifold gaskets and painted the motor Pontiac metallic blue. I upgraded to Ram Air exhaust manifolds as well as a correct RAIII Rochester carb, which I had rebuilt. The alternator and starter were also rebuilt. I installed a new AC compressor, but the AC is not working at this time. It is equipped with power steering (new pump) and manual drum brakes. The engine bay is detailed with many correct pieces and finishes. You will not be embarrassed to open the hood at any car show.
Underneath, there are new brake lines, new fuel tank and new exhaust. The underside is also very presentable. The original steel wheels ride on reproduction Wide Oval pinstripe whites. The spare tire is also a correct pinstripe white Wide Oval, and there is a correct jack in the truck.
The door panels, seats and seatbelts, and console are original and in beautiful condition. I installed new carpet, with dynamat underneath, new headliner, and a restored dah pad. The gauges and cluster are original and fully functional. This car is a factory radio delete, and the rare block off plate is still there.
Overall this is a very nice driver that you won't be afraid to show. I have driven it approx. 1000 miles since I finished it and it is truly a pleasure to drive. It is available for inspection in Hicksville, NY by appointment only. This vehicle is sold as is, where is with no warranty implied or given. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time.
