Same owner since 1985! Frame off restored to look great. I will personally vouch for the fact it drives and functions incredibly well. PHS documented.
EXTERIOR: Many NOS (New Old Stock) parts- fenders, hood, bumpers, grills, headlight bezels, tail panel, emblems and other stainless and chrome trim. Black convertible top is in exc condition. Rally 1 wheels have recent radial redline tires. There are no issues with the body. It is straight and fits really well. I don't see any signs of rust, damage or body work. The burgundy paint has tiny metal flake and was sprayed in lacquer like the original. It is polished bright and shows really well. There are minor imperfections if you look for them. Upfront everything fits really well and looks new. The rocker moldings are straight and shiny. It has a factory power antenna that works. Pinstripe is painted on just like factory would have done. The windshield looks new. Door jambs are nice, weather strips are still real good.
INTERIOR: Very nice unabused interior. Everything fits really nice and looks really nice. The dash pad, instrument panel, bezels, knobs, heater controls are excellent looking. It has optional rally gauges including tachometer. It also has a rare Am-Fm radio that works real well. There is an XM Satellite unit wired up in the console. The original deluxe steering wheel has some wear but no cracks. Down on the floor the carpets are excellent, has original seat belts front and back and reproduction Pontiac floor mats. The center console is in excellent shape with new wood grain. The seat cushions are firm, the upholstery is very good with a couple minor repairs you would have to look for. Side panels are all excellent. The vent levers on the kick panels work. All the interior lights work, even in the glove box and console.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Only 1,000 miles on rebuilt engine. The 400 was built to factory H.O. specs. It has 068 cam, H.O. exhaust manifolds and open element air cleaner. Upgraded Pertronix distributor and high performance coil. Motor compartment is very proper. The fan shroud, correct fan, GM reproduction hoses, clamps and radiator cap. It has spring clamp battery cables, the battery is bolted down properly. The brake booster is cadmium plated, correct valve covers and air cleaner lid have mint chrome. The wiper motor looks new, squirters are hooked up. It has hood insulation.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Big solid metal trunk compartment was spatter painted. It has a rally 1 wheel for a spare. Has jack assembly, everything is bolted down properly. Wiring looks tidy, the rubber mat looks new, weatherstrip is excellent.
UNDERSIDE: It looks close to new underneath. The body was pulled from the frame. Clean metal floors, braces, inner rockers etc. The chassis has been restored and detailed. All the bushings, ball joints, steering were replaced. NOS front and rear, upper and lower control arms. Boxed control arms in back. Recent Delco shocks. Bottom of the motor looks spotless- fuel pump and starter look new. The original Muncie 4-speed is dated properly. The trans and linkage look new. Rebuilt 3.55 posi rear. The brakes work great, e-brake cables are hooked up. Fuel system was replaced including the tank. Correct dual exhaust system with staggered size mufflers.
This GTO is right. It's from a GTO enthusiast that wanted everything to be the way it should be. It will certainly be one of the best driving and feeling cars I'll drive this year. I believe the new owner will have nothing to do but put gas in it and enjoy!
