Car description

Here's the full rundown, warts and all. I've been informed it's actually a Chieftan and not a Star Chief based on the VIN#. Not a showroom quality car but a great candidate for restoration. The engine is in great shape for its age, never rebuilt. Odometer likely rolled over at 100K miles. I've owned it about a year, and I know the previous owner who had it a few years. Before that it was in a barn for quite awhile. You're more than welcome to ask questions, inspect it, and drive it before making a final payment. Drives great, road worthy, can go on long trips and drive to car shows. Not my daily driver but I take it to work sometimes. Stock standard 287 Strato-streak motor, automatic transmission, generator, carb, glass, chrome, drum brakes. Carb could probably use a tune-up, it has not been worked on in some time. No knocking, and no smoke in exhaust. I do notice a little bit of vapor comes out of the breather cap on passenger side (blow-by) but nothing major. Metal fan shroud shown in pictures has been removed. Original color was Maroon/red and white (see hinge of doors). No body damage or rust. All original gauges on instrument panel, all of which work fine (speedometer, odometer, fuel, voltage, oil temp, water temp). Upholstery was redone at some point, only flaw is a small hole in the seat on the drivers side thanks to a careless mechanic :( Frame and floorpan are solid but the pan has been patched. I posted a pic of the worst of it, you can see the thin original pan has rust in spots but the floorpan above it is solid. The rear end is rust-free (see pics). The exhaust header has some rust also. Interior roof fabric (original) has some stains that may be able to be cleaned without having to replace (see pic). The heater core sprung a coolant leak recently, and I was not able to find a replacement so I am currently bypassing coolant around the heater (which worked great before), the blower works fine. The chrome has some bubbling/pitting especially on the rear fins and the hood ornament. The bumpers must have been replaced because they look pristine. Wipers work. Included: A brand new undercar (blue neon, 4 bulb) kit from Streetglow (I never got around to installing), A box of old parts, old water pump (needs a new seal), etc., a header? gasket, a stock hood ornament (non-lighted), Jack and spare tire, and Jumper cables. New: Tires have very few miles on them (last owner put them on), Water pump, thermostat, radiator all replaced by me. Voltage regulator replaced by me. Brake master cylinder replaced by last owner. Yellow paint by me very recently, white paint was not done. No clear coat applied, and not waxed. Custom Installed: CD/mp3 player with sound system, lots of large speakers inside car and trunk and amp in trunk. Electric fuel pump with on-off switch near ignition. Lighted hood ornament with color-changing LED light that runs on its own battery under the hood. Radiator fan to replace the shroud. Dixie horn.
