This auction offers my1970 Pontiac Formula 400daily driver. I’ve owned her since 2016, having had her shipped to Virginia from the west coast. The Formula is rust-free and has never had any rust, having grown up in California. She waspurchased new at Surfside Pontiac in Manhattan Beach, CA and spent all of her time in Lancaster, CA and later in the deserts around Pahrump, NV. I’ve had the Formula for about five years now, and one previous owner had her for over 30 years, so she has been loved since day one. As mentioned, I purchased her in 2016 and had her shipped to Richmond, VA where she has been garage kept and driven on nice days only. I have kept up with all of the maintenance and I have a huge stack of receipts going back to new, including the original CA blue plates, PHS documentation, insurance cards, registrations, smog checks, oil changes, original build sheet, etc. I just had all the seat upholstery professional recovered and it looks amazing. Some of the features include:
·400 engine, numbers matching, plenty of power
·Automatic transmission, numbers matching
·Working Ram Air system
·Original 12 bolt rear end
·Original Rochester Quadrajet
·Power steering, Power disc brakes, A/C (all there but currently non-op)
·Period correct polyglass tires . . . so cool!
·Rust free throughout, original sheet metal
·One professional respray in Goldenrod Yellow, paint has dulled over the years
·Correct original vinyl top, no bubbling or issues
·Complete PHS Documentation, large stack of receipts since new
·Original build sheet
·Interiorupholstery is brand new and correct
·Jack, spare, inflator all accounted for
·Original Pontiac Red Dot stereo professionally rebuilt
·All gauges and lights work
·Clean title in my name
·Evil Knievel not included – ha!
She retains all of her original charm and patina. She has been my daily driver on nice days so she is ready to go. Plenty of power and she sounds like a proper muscle car.The only reason the Formula is for sale is because I also have an original Pontiac Trans-Am SuperDuty and an original Pontiac Formula SuperDuty and just don’t have the space or time to love them all. She runs well and has nice patina which means expect some leaks, original carpet and dash, some dings and such but also expect a well sorted rust-free crowd-gathering original California Formula 400!
I am serious about selling the Formula, so don’t be afraid to make a fair offer. According to NADA Classic Car values, this car with these options has an average retail price of $47,180. Obviously I am much more reasonable in my pricing. I’m happy to allow serious parties to come see the car in person, and I’m happy to work with your shipper. Non-refundable deposit of $500 due within 24 hours, remainder due within 7 days. Auction title says something about free shipping which is incorrect, buyer is responsible for shipping of course. Thanks for looking . . . good luck!
