Car description |
---|
This TTA began duty as a Pontiac Exec Promo(PEP) car. It was then sold at a General Motors auction on its certificate of origin with 1335 miles on the odometer. Ipurchased the car on August 23, 1990 from that dealer with 1452 miles on the odometer and became the first titled owner. Loads of documentation, windowsticker, build sheet, warranty paper work, service paper work, press kit, rare Indy jacket, NOS 20th Annv Spark Plug Wires all go with the car.
The vehicle retains all its original sheet metal and maintains nearly all of its original paint. Hood was painted prior my purchasing the car in 1990 due to fall out near Van Nuys plant. Nose was painted to hide the hideous license plate holes. Rear bumper was painted due to spider webbing. There area few minor dings, and scratches, and imperfections that are normal for a car of such age. The car was enjoyed, driven, shown, garaged, and maintained - not parked to become a trailer queen. The spoiler has been replaced due to common cracking, the antenna was replaced with a correct unit. The seats, headliner, sunvisors, T-top shades, speaker cover panels have all been recovered incorrect beechwood material. New carpet was installed due to fading. All weather stripping is in good condition and has been replaced as needed with NOS parts over the years. The headlights flip up and down correctly. The rear hatch works properly. The original alternator was rebuilt not replaced.
The vehicle has its numbers matching original engine with upgrades including Lunati cam & lifters, double roller timing chain, and large volume oil pump. The original heads and intake were sent out to Champion for a street port and match job. The original transmission was replaced by Pontiac under warranty many years ago but not that many miles ago. That unit has since been rebuilt and upgraded for heavy duty applications with the addition of a stall speed converter. The rear ring and pinion were changed to a 3:45 gear. A new Precision TA5858 turbo unit was installed less than 50 miles ago along with 50lb injectors and aTweak chip. There’s a 3 bar regulator and XP Armstrong fuel pump to support more boost if wanted. The vehicle has an on board ANS boost controller and ScanMaster. The exhaust exits through a Hooker 3†system and the car sounds greatthrough the original s/s twin splitter tail pipes. I just installed new brakes using GM Delco pads and rotors, new energy suspension stabilizer links, Timken left axle seal, and FelPro differential cover gasket.Tires are new and have less than 50 miles on them. Radio turns on and antenna works properly, but unit will not tune to any station. The AC blows ice cold when charged but it will need a high pressure switch as dye test has shown a slow leak at that location.
I will help deliver vehicle to car carrier if needed. Contact me if you would like any further information. I'm not interested in trades - so don't ask. Vehicle for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel auction at any time. Don't bid if you are not serious.
