SUPER SOLID AND BUILT WELL 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.
Very dry and solid., Air conditioning, factory tilt, and white interior options. The car has just come back from a $29K 10-month restoration.We sent the Firebird from our home in California to Dave Hall in Nebraska at Restoreamusclecar.com. We have a complete list of everything done.
We started with a very dry and clean California car with many options and factory Air conditioning ( NOT HOOKED UP NOW NEEDS COMPRESSOR )
It was a wonderful ( 8 out of 10 ) stock 1977 Firebird .... $18K car and we have spent 33K on its restoration.
The car originally came from the factory with 4 speed and a 400-small block........but now it has a very powerful, solid newly completely rebuilt 1972 455 Motor ( I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU PONTIAC HISTORY NUTS SAY, 455 MEANS IT IS A BIG BLOCK ) DATE CODE A272 ( Jan 2, 1972 ) Casting Number 485428 = 455 Engine, by restoreamusclecar.com
We REBUILT the 4 Speed Muncie Manual transmission with a New clutch.
IT HAS the original HURST shifting T handle.
This is a very solid fast, and smooth driving car. Shifts solid, strong, and fast. Built to be a tight, strong running and an enjoyable car that could be run all day every day.
GOOD Buccaneer Red paint with some blemishes here and there but nothing very noticeable and shows very well,
8/10 condition.
PAINT IS beautifully shiny and deep. New factory Firebird body decal kit and all correct emblems. New door, trunk, hood rubber insulation, and gaskets all around.
Refinished in the factory BUCCANEER red with factory WHITE interior,
The interior is original factory White and black with no issues, it has been freshened up and the door panels were re dyed white where needed. The PHS report will show all factory options which makes this a very rare car.
New brake lines, Brake system New master cylinder.
New BFG tires on brand new restored original factory Snowflake wheels. FLAWLESS
FACTORY POSI ! Rebuilt rear differential and balanced drive shaft with LOCAR bars on the rear axle keeps the car straight and eliminates the “Hop” “Dive” and “Twist” when the car is asked to go go go….
The suspension was rebuilt, and new parts were added, and everything was adjusted. The car handles very well, drives straight, and is tight. IT CORNERS HARD AND TRACKS SO WELL. Factory Radial Tuned Suspension.
New factory Radiator, cooling, with all new hoses. New belts, Oil, Oil filter, Plugs, Plug Wires, Distributor, Cap, Points, Alternator, and OPTIMA RED battery.
New Holley 750 Double Pumper carb with #62 jets complemented with a custom GEN 2 air cleaner with a K&N Air filter system set up for the shaker hood scoop.
New exhaust manifolds, stainless steel exhaust system from block to tips with MAGNAFLOW dual exhaust.
New Electronic CUT OUTS just after the manifolds sound really badass. New ZOOMIE switch just out of sight on the dash.
With a flip of the secret button under the dash, you can go from a very deep, tight MAGNAFLOW sound to an open exhaust race ROAD/TRACK sound.
This feature is a blast and turns heads every time. Very intimidating deep loud race sound when engaged.
Glass is clean and clear with excellent stainless-steel moldings. All trim is smooth and shiny chrome with no dents.
Everything is clean and bright, and the interior went through a cosmetic resto. The clean white headliner and visors are original and are excellent. They were steam cleaned with no rips or tears or worn masks of any kind.
The dash is perfect with no cracks or marks and is very nice with all gauges functioning and correct. The turn indicator arm is tight, and self corrects.
New power steering with chrome reservoir, the power steering is tight and smooth. Factory Tilt steering wheel
is clean and tight with no cracks.
New Alpine touch screen stereo with Sirius XM, Bluetooth, and GPS available with a USB cable and APPLE LINK.
It does have Apple Link and will link with your mobile devices. New 6X9 Alpine 3-way rear Deck speakers with front Alpine Tweeters. Bass Subwoofer with amp installed in the trunk.
When you are not using the cuts out exhaust the stereo has a really nice clean and solid sound. Dash is clean without cracks and the carpet is very nice with no issues.
Wipers and all dash features work and function correctly. High beams and remote mirror work as should. Seat belts and seats function as should.
The back package tray is clean and supports the Alpine 6X9 speakers with Alpine grills.
All glass is clean and good.
This car is a wonderful example of a 1977 Firebird T/A and is exactly what you would want and expect to enjoy over the weekend.
From road trips up the coast to the Cars and Coffee Sunday get-togethers this is a very fun car that brings loads of attention.
800 miles since rebuild the car has no issues and is a pleasure to be in.
This car will defiantly make the new owner happy, it is very tight and fun to drive and is ready to create miles of memories.

All Pontiac engines from the early 287 motor of the late 50's to the 455 are all the same block. Only the displacement changed. Later when they started to put 301 motors and Chevy 350 engines were there any "small" blocks. The 403 engine, designated as 400's in later 70's cars were Oldsmobile engines and were big blocks. Manuals were still the Pontiac engine. All that said, your car is fabulous. Done exactly the way I would do it. Wish I could rearrange my finances to buy yours now.
