Car description |
---|
For sale is this 1980 Pontiac Firebird Formula. It has the turbocharged 4.9 liter engine and TH350 3 speed automatic transmission. The vehicle VIN code is 2V87TAN133092. This is a PROJECT CAR. The paint is candy red/metallic green 2 tone and has a few chips here and there, but I could not find any dings. Both front fenders, both door skins, both outer rockers, and both bottom rear quarter panels have been patched. Bodywork was done 20 years ago and no rush has shown since that time. Some floor panels have been repaired. Engine runs nicely and does not burn oil, but needs new head gasket. At a minimum, the driver side frame rail needs repaired or replaced, but both frame rails should be replaced. Section of trunk has rust hole and needs replaced. Needs some minor electrical work. Transmission works, but needs a minute to go into reverse after engine is started and requires fidgeting on the shifter as it needs to be shifted somewhere between park and reverse initially, but after it has gone into reverse the first time, then it has no problems going into reverse on subsequent attempts. It has no issues going into drive. Has a new upgraded camshaft, carburetor, radiator, Bilstein shocks on all 4 corners, and CD ignition. New valve springs and 1.65 roller rockers were installed right before the car went into storage. This vehicle has been garaged for 10 years. This would make a fine project car for someone with the tools and time for it.
