1978 PONTIAC FIREBIRD FORMULA; 427 CHEVY; TURBO 400; 9" FORD; EX. COND. (video)

Rust-free 1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula powered by a 1968 427 c.i. / 435 h.p. Chevrolet Big Block (casting # 3935439) built by the legendary RADAR Machine company of Phila. PA. The Firebird was built by the current owner who purchased the car in 1980 when it was a stock Formula Firebird. There is no bodywork or accident repair anywhere in the car, very straight. Over the years the black paint started to fade so the top, rear quarter panels, and front fenders were re-painted to bring the luster of the original black paint back to life. It looks awesome.

During the first 10 years of ownership the Pontiac saw less than 5000 miles on the road and was always garage kept. The original 305 c.i. GM engine and automatic transmission just did not have the power for a strong 11.00 second street machine, so the project began.....since the completion less than 500 miles have been logged on the odometer......See specifics below.....

Additionally, some of the original parts which were removed are included: The original Formula hood, Vintage Air A/C system and all the duct work, back seat, factory wheels, and the original radiator and shroud. Original engine and transmission are NOT available.
