1977 Pontiac Lemans Sport / Can AM ! Extremely Rare and Hard to Find ! Pontiac Collector's know that only 1,133 were produced and there are only an estimated 300 that remain roadworthy. This one runs, drives and stops great! It has the original matching numbers engine and transmission. It is registered and insured and driven periodically. These cars were built from the Pontiac Lemans Sport model, with an upgraded 6.6 V8 and special suspension, exhaust, wheels, louvered rear quarter-glass and more. They were then sent to Motor-Town USA for the installation of the shaker hood, ducktail spoiler and the tri colored stripes. Production was scheduled for 5,000 units but after only a partial production run of 1,133 units the mold for the rear spoiler broke beyond repair and a replacement was unavailable. Pontiac at that point ceased production of the 1977 Can Am. It has been called the last GTO, even some of the advertising Pontiac used said "Remember the Goat?â€. It has been authenticated to be a TRUE 1977 Pontiac CAN-AM and can be found on the Pontiac Can Am registry online. This car has the Hurst Hatch T-Tops (which makes it among a small handful of cars in the world), It is equipped with a Pontiac 400cu. 6.6 Liter Engine with Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so here are plenty of pictures. Email me with any questions.
