Car description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 70+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a very rare 1988 Pontiac Fiero finished in Yellow over Gray interior with a five speed manual transmission. I would rate the exterior of this Fiero to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. This is one of those cars that, for me, gets automatic points just for still being alive. As you can see, this is a good looking Fiero. I would not consider myself an expert on these cars, but I've been around a few...and a little bit of internet research tells me that this is an extremely rare example. The 1988 model year was the final year of the Fiero, and the only year that yellow was available. Of the 370k Fiero's made in their rather short run, only 1,166 of them were yellow. If you work that out mathematically, .3% of Fiero's are yellow. Yes, that is .3% ...as in 0.003 (zero point three percent) of every hundred made were yellow...and only half of them were stick. The yellow finish shines nicely and looks smooth all around. It does look to be an older repaint, which is hard to fault a 32 year old car over. If you look closely, you can see some yellow where it doesn't belong...but, again, nothing to fuss over. The body lines are all nice and straight. The hood, doors, and trunk all open and close easily. All of the trim and cladding is present and shows well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in new rubber with good tread showing all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this Fiero came in. How you see it is exactly how it was traded in. In fact, I didn't even wash it to take these photos. I would also rate the interior of this Fiero to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION. Again, the fact that this car is even here gives it automatic points. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash is clean and free of cracking, which indicates that this rare Fiero spent its life in a garage. The headliner shows its age but is still hanging in there. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. The driver's seat is showing some wear on the outer bolster, which is to be expected at this age. Inside the cockpit, things are pretty basic. Everything is manual. The windows roll up and down easily. Everything looks to be present and intact. The radio is original, but only plays if you hold the power button in. The climate control system appears to be working. The fan works on all speeds and all of the controls function as intended. The heater works well. This is an A/C equipped car but it does not blow cold air. The condition of the interior is quite impressive and speaks volumes as to how this Fiero was cared for by her last owner. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this exceptionally rare Pontiac came in. Mechanically, this Fiero appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 2.5L "iron duke" four cylinder engine starts up easy and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are pretty good. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. You can hear the swaybar endlinks rattle a little bit from age, but nothing horrible. The 1988 model year saw many needed advances and updates in the suspension and engines. All of the gauges work...except the tachometer comes and goes as it pleases. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure. The fans come on and off, as they should. The engine makes good power and feels smooth. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the rare getrag 5 speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. Like all of my auctions, this super rare Fiero will be sold to the highest bidder. I'm going to be honest, I almost kept this one. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a weakness for rare cars. While not Barret Jackson / Pebble Beach quality, this super rare Fiero would make a great cruiser or to take to local shows. There can only be a handful of yellow ones left out there. I truly hope this Fiero goes to someone who will love her and keep her nice so I can feel good about selling it. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Please bid with confidence and bid to own. This Fiero will only be up for auction once.
