1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 T-top
This Trans Am sat in a yard/field just outside Albuquerque, N.M. for a while (don't know how long) before I acquired it. It is in solid condition with minimal rust...mostly surface rust. It has only two tiny rust holes that I can find under the passenger rear seat on the floor pan (pictured). For some reason, the previous owner cut out the rear shelf area inside under the rear window. I suppose it could be useful for some custom idea. The trunk pan is in good condition like the floors.
I have the Pontiac Historical Society report (included for buyer). Unfortunately it is NOT a Special Edition (Bandit) car. The original colors were black on black. It is, however, a trueWS6car with the original 403 Olds (6.6L) motor and automatic transmission. This Tran Am has factory 4 wheel disc brakes. It is a T-top car (obviously) and has factory AC (cowl parts are long gone), power remote trunk opener (yellow button in glove box), power door locks, power windows, power steering, and manual remote mirror on the driver side. It has a 10 bolt rearend (don't know the gears). The rear end may be locked up.
This Trans Am needs complete restoration, but is a solid starting point. The motor will need to be rebuilt as well as the transmission and rear end. I have a like-new OEM steering wheel, brand new (in the box) disc brake rotors (cross-drilled and slotted) and pads for it, and new fender spoilers for the front. There is a center console, but it is not in good shape. The headlight bezels are there, but one outer bezel was damaged (fixable?). The tail lights are in great shape except for one fin...it has a notch broken off on the passenger side. These parts are included. The turbine wheels will be going with the buyer. The chrome slotted wheels are NOT included. If I can find it, I will include a working Cobra CB radio.
I have a lot more pictures if you need to see any specific area. I had plans to restore and eventually sell it, but I already have too many projects and a newborn baby. It has been sitting too long at my place. I hope this goes to a good home! I have described this Trans Am as accurately and honestly as I can. If you need to have someone inspect it, you are more then welcome to schedule it at your cost. I will make myself available if necessary.
Clean and clear Texas title in my name. Odometer reads 91,546
