Car description

1980 Pontiac Trans Am301 4.9 Liter V83 Speed Automatic Trans82,xxx Actual Miles
Nice, straight 1980 Trans Am, Paint Code '76' Montreaux Maroon. Overall nice looking, nice driving Trans Am. Interior, underhood, and trunk all show very nice for the age of the vehicle. Paint is original color, has been repainted once in the past. The paint is looking pretty good for age, I would give it a 8/10. Gloss and color look great, looking directly at the car up close under full sun and there is some fading to the pigment, but you have to be up close and it has to be in full sun to notice. Hood has minor bow on driver side and rests slightly high say a cm or so up from fender. There is some minor spider webbing in places on the bumpers but again only noticeable when you are up close. There are some stone chips on rear wheel mouldings and a few minor chips otherwise around the car. I am being overly fussy in describing this car for the simple fact that I want you to understand what you are buying, this is not a fresh repaint. This car has won local shows, and to the average passerby this car would be described as beautiful.
Interior is as well in very nice condition, not perfect but very nice for age of car. Seats and dash, door pads, carpet all show very nice. Rear 1/4 pieces have some finish flaking off of them, visible in pics. That is about the worst you can say for the interior though, overall it is in very nice condition. A/C is all there and compressor turns freely, however no belt is installed and I have made no attempt to get the Air working, this a car that makes you want the windows down anyway, so why mess with the A/C in my opinion.

Wheels are aftermarket 17" while still keeping with the snowflake look of the original rims. They give the car a little bit of a restomod / modern look and are exceptionally clean from curb rashes and pitting. Tires are Uniroyal Tiger Paw and all four are in excellent condition. Treadwear is even and consistent and there is easily 75% of the tread left on all four tires.
The exhaust system on the car is just literally two straight pipes with the T/A turndowns behind the rear tires. It is a little bit loud but it isn't overly abnoxious sounding. Also a shift kit has been installed on the car to give it a nice solid shift between all gears. The car goes very straight down the road with minimal noise from the body and interior. The powertrain is very smooth on this car, from 0-100 and back down again this car drives very nice. Brakes are in good shape. This car suffers from the typical Pontiac rear main drip when the car is sitting in the garage. Nothing major but it will leave a little spot. I have had mixed luck fixing these over the years often times replacing the seal only to have them start to leak again after a few months. Other than that everything is dry underneath, car doesn't smoke or burn any oil.

Overall this is a nice clean car you can get into turn the key and be proud to take to any cruise or local car show and have some fun. I have done what I can in trying to describe this car as accurately as possible. I think I have been as fussy and overly critical as a person can be when describing some of the flaws of an otherwise beautiful machine. If you are interested in purchasing, I highly recommend you to inspect for yourself so that you can make a totally informed decision.
