Car description

The following is the story of my 1967 Pontiac, 1st Generation Firebird Convertible. I purchased the car on November 6, 2017 from the gentleman which built the car in 2016. At the time I wasn't looking at this car, I was looking at another Firebird which being auctioned on eBay in Dallas. At the time the one in Dallas seemed to be on the high end of what I thought I wanted to purchase a car for, so I turned to Car Gurus and was going through the cars they had listed for 1st Gen Firebirds and saw this one. I was immediately attracted to the color combination, it was a convertible, it had A/C, was an automatic, and then I got to the pic's of the engine, and I said this is the one I wanted, and it was within budget.

Pontiac introduced the Firebird to the Newspapers on the afternoon of Friday, January 27, 1967, with it going on sale on February 23rd. John Z. DeLorean, General Motors vice president and general manager of Pontiac Motor Division stated that with the introduction of the Firebird General Motors hoped to attract new car buyers who want to step up to something extra in styling as well as performance in a rapidly growing sports car field.

I sent an email to PHS automotive services, inc. to see if I could get the history of the car. They sent me all the documents which they could find though microfilm, as follows:

1. The car was born on June 7, 1967

2. It was a Firebird 400, with the 4 BBL carburetors.
