Car description

Here's a Rare Barn Find Original Safari Wagon.
I've owned this car for about 10 years and had plans of restoring it one day, but too many other projects so I'm letting this one go to someone else.
This is the first year of the wide track Pontiac's. The Safari Wagon is a cool addition to any collection. I have fond memories of riding around as a kid in the back of my parents 59 Buick Wagon, going to the drive in, etc.
Station wagons are very collectible now. For years they were ignored, thrown away to the scrap yard, used as parts cars, etc. Now they are hard to find.
This 59 Pontiac Safari Wagon is all original. Its been off the road since 1969. The mileage appears to be original based up how long the car has been sitting along with the lack of wear to the gas and brake pedal, etc.
The paint is worn but original. The interior is original but weathered from the years of sitting. There is no carpeting in this car, it was ordered with full rubber floor covering. Due to the rubber floor covering, it did trap moisture under it causing some rust issues to the floor pans. Other then that rust issue, the rest of the car is straight and clean. the rocker panels are nice, bottoms of the doors, fenders and rear quarters. There is surface rust on the roof and other places around the body. The frame is solid with just surface rust and dirt. The body has all of its trim except the "Safari" letters on the rear tail gate. The windshield, rear window and left side glass is bad and will need to be replaced. The glass is the same as any other GM station wagon from 1959 and I believe 1960. The glass can be purchased new through various reproduction automotive glass companies.
Under the hood is what appears to be the original 389 engine with two barrel carburetor. There are some parts missing from the front of the engine along with the radiator. Those missing parts can be seen in the pictures.
The title for this car is long lost, it will be sold on a bill of sale only. Check with your state to see what options are available to gain a title. Most states allow for a lien sale process to gain title.
Again, this is a rare collectible and original car. It would be a fun attention getting car once restored.
