Car description |
---|
This is a super nice A/FX tribute Pontiac Tempest Drag Car that was built to tear up the street.
Body is super straight and nice. I have never seen a uni-body car this rust free. The floor pans don't even have surface rust on them. The paint is super nice with no flaws. The chrome and trim are super nice. The front fenders, hood, and valance are actually fiberglass from VFN. The bumpers are steel and painted to look like fiberglass. All glass is in great shape. All new weather stripping. All lights work.
The interior was done in the basic drag car look. Ames Pontiac sells all of the factory looking reproduction door panels, kick panels, headliner, carpet, etc should you like the more finished look. All gauges work. It even has a factory looking vacuum gauge and tach mounted in the dash. Wipers and heater do not work. It has a Lakewood style 3 point roll bar mounted properly behind the front seats. I also have the stock steering wheel.
The engine is a heavily modified 455 Pontiac. It has Kaufman Racing Equipment aluminum heads, Edlebrock aluminum high rise intake manifold and carburetor, 9 to 1 compression ratio forged pistons with molly rings, Stock stroke, Ram air IV cam, 1.50 rockers, Vintage MOON valve covers, Ram Air Restorations D-port long branch factory reproduction cast iron headers, 2.5" exhaust. Flow masters, etc. The trans is a 350 turbo with a shift kit and Lokar shifter. Inland steel drive shaft. $ wheel disc brakes. Ford 9" rear end with a Yukon posi center section. Not sure of the gear ratio, but it drives like a 3:73 or so. The rear suspension is from Ride Tech and it is a triangular 4-link set up with coil over shocks. The front suspension is stock but have been converted over to a Flaming River rack and pinion seat up. It steers like it has power steering and stops on a dime.
It is running factory style steel wheels with Hurst reproduction pie crust slicks on the back. This car can really smoke those big slicks.
This build has less than 1000 miles on it and to shows.
Terrorize the streets with this car or take it to the track. Great all around car that you will not see yourself going and coming in.
