Oh Boy! The history on this car is nothing short of story book! The story and the paperwork on the car are enough to just want me to keep it forever. My wife believes the car is cursed, bad luck, should be crushed, and no longer on this planet. I however, appreciate the car for what it is...so...let the drum roll begin!
I call this car "Christine"...for good reason...(don't worry...nobody died IN this car) minor damage to Endura bumper... The car is a one owner car. It has sat since 1969. It has only 8700 original miles on it. Fender looks like a shade lighter because I rubbed the laquer to see it really "pop"...and thats' as far as I got. The interior really shows the use of this car, basically none! I wish it had been stored in a heated garage for 50 years, but the events of this cars life sent it to a place where it didn't have a choice of where it was...but...in all fairness, if we didn't have that, we wouldn't have a original car like we have here today. I strongly debated on doing some cosmetics and getting her running and showing her as a "pure" survivor...but like I had indicated earlier, my wife isn't fond of the history of the car, and the old saying "Happy Wife, Happy Life" truly rings true here.
I can verify the mileage as being accurate on the car because of the history of the car. It sat in a container for many, many years.
It has the original air filter, plugs, 1Q68 plug wires...carb has never been off the manifold. I have the original battery...I have 2 of the original tires...none are on the car...they do not hold air. The car was kept in a secure building for 20 years...was started and moved in 78-79 on a empty antifreeze jug full of gas (quite nicely done!)
The car shifts into all gears fine, clutch engages and disengages, carburetor is free, brakes are obviously to the floor.
The car is going to need to be gone through...original paint is quasi rough...can be saved...interior is pretty much new...minor rust, where lacquer cracked on front right fender, door and right rear quarter panel...but no panel replacement should be required.
This is a car that is hard to even sell...the story is quite disturbing...If you have any genuine interest give me a call...630 273 7595...serious offers will be considered.
Real buyers call...I'm not a big fan of eBay messages.
Buyer will have to sign a disclosure to not discuss or advertise the cars history publicly or for any monetary gain. The history of the car is sensitive...and a lot of old memories that are not good and family of the original owner are still around...this was a agreement I made when I bought the car and intend on that agreement following to the new owner.
Car is absolutely sold as-is...come inspect, send your inspector...
Car has clean and clear title and a binder of documentation. This car has never before been offered for sale. It wasn't even for sale when I bought it. It was a urban legend, and I found it.
I can assist with shipping insofar as I have a Central Dispatch account and can get you a wholesale price on getting it moved.
For sale locally as well...auction can be ended at anytime in the event of a offer I can't refuse. Tomorrow I'm putting the car back in storage so you'll need to coordinate with me to inspect. I've a very knowledgable GTO guy...so you can ask away on your technical questions...
Look at my feedback...I don't own junk, buy junk, misrepresent junk, etc. This is a hobby and lets keep it fun!
