Car description |
---|
Rare one owner 1989PontiacTrans-am GTA that has not been modified and is factory original. The car was purchased NEW from Broadway Cadillac/GMC inOakland,CAwhich was also aPontiacdealer in the fall of 1988 (is now the location of a Whole Foods Market).
We opted for the smaller 5.0L (305 ci) because we wanted the fun you can only have by being able to manually shift through the gears with 225 hp V-8.
This 1989 GTA is equipped with the MM5 speed gear box which is linked to the 305 ci (5.0 Lt) engine . The 5.0L creates 225HP when paired with the Dual Exhaust System (options code N10) which our Trans-Am has. Not only that, but the amount of torque with the 3.45 rear end pins you to the seat with plenty of power from the 5,0L 305ci.
I have included a picture of the Service Parts Identification Label which is attached to the inside of the console that gives you the build breakdown of this 1989 Pontiac Trans-Am GTA. You can check the options code on our car by simply going online towww.gtasourcepage.com/89RPOFigures.html
We had the car inspected last year at 47,009 miles and have included a copy of the inspection report from Mitch Smith Auto (AAA Certified Auto Service Center) Please take note where they sayOverall Inspection - Pass!!! Great Vehicle.
Of the 8465 production Trans-Am GTA's made in 1989, only 366 were equipped with the five speed manual transmission. There are probably fewer then 5% 1989 Trans-Am GTA's of the 366 with manual transmissions still owned by the original owner and in this good of condition, a rare find indeed.
The few parts that have been replaced are the alternator, battery, power antenna motor, and the heater core. Our local GMC dealer replaced all of the fuel injectors at around forty-thousand miles. The rear spoiler has a slight split which is conducive to the composite material the rear spoiler is made of (a common problem with the spoilers in the Transam), however the car comes with a Brand New fiberglass reproduction spoiler which was purchased from Kebbuck LLC (newperformacheparts out of Tracy, CA) https://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-90-Pontiac-Firebird-Trans-Am-Coupe-GTA-Formula-Rear-Fiberglass-Spoiler and has never been taken out of the carton it was shipped in. Kebbuck LLC had a great reputation for manufacturing fiberglass parts for all makes of cars and trucks, the value of the spoiler alone is over $550. The spoiler is primed and ready to be painted. The paint on the car is original and still has a very good shine due in no small part having being garaged it's entire life. There is a little bit fading on the roof next to the T-tops and a little bit on the top of the rear fenders, however the hood, doors and front fenders look great considering the car is 30 years old. I have never driven it anywhere without getting high praise from fellow car owners how great the car looks. The car comes with a Pontiac Trans-Am Factory Bra that we purchased new from the same Pontiac dealer we bought the car from new. I will include a cassette tape which you can plug into you iPod or iPhone and play your favorite tunes through the fantastic factory sound system. The Fulda Quantum 245/50ZR16 tires are brand new with less then 3000 miles. This collectible 30 year old car has only 47K miles and has never been raced or abused. The car runs as great today as it did the day we purchased it. The car is kept in a climate controlled garage and is never driven in the winter. Rust is not a problem as the car has never been driven in the snow or ice in Indiana. When we moved to Indiana from California the car was transported via professional car carrier..
The Black Leather interior is in great condition as you can see from the pictures and looks as nice as the day it was purchased.
The car has crossed the threshold of a classic and is a great example of a car 30 years old that looks like it was built yesterday.
Unless you are committed to purchasing the car at the fixed price please do not make make an offer, as we are not negotiating. The car is well worth our asking price and more. I know there is someone out there that will love and cherish the car as much as we have for the next 30 years as the car will only appreciate in value as time goes on, Remember there were only 366 with the factory installed 5 speed manual transmission built in 1989, and I would guess less then 5% of those are in this category.
I am happy to send more pictures on request. We had the car taken and checked out by a very well know local shop Mitch Smith Auto Service, his assessment is included with the photos.
