Car description

Listing my fathers 1972 Lemans Sport, he bought this car new in 1972, it was daily driven from 72 till the early 90's. The car was always garaged from day 1 and has been stored in my garage now for years. Service and maintenance was always done on a regular basis so the car would never let him down. The car was ordered from Mal Pierce Pontiac Bethpage NY on 4/13/1972. He ordered the car with the W70 package, 400 engine,4spd(M22) trans & safe t track rear & Rally Wheels, knowing the GTO would have gotten stolen in NY the the 70's so he opted for the LeMans Sport. I grew up in this car and know all the history well. The original window sticker and invoice is pictured. I took the car in 2012 and have kept it stored in my garage where its been started monthly and driven to keep the fluids moving. I will try to break everything down as best as I can below. Mileage reads 59xxx but it did roll over.
Body- Repainted in 2004 the original Lucerne Blue Base/Clear, all body panels are original except both lower rear 1/4 panels, they were replaced due to some rust bubbles behind the rear wheel. 1 small bubble did appear above the rear bumper on the drivers side and 1 small spot on the drivers door since the repaint. Paint looks and shines great mostly since the car hasn't been driven as much since it was repainted. All chrome, grills, and bumpers are original, front bumper held up well, rear bumper did pit and peel and areas. When we had the body redone we couldn't locate the correct rear valance so a 70GTO rear valance was used, all glass except the windshield is original, windshield was replaced in 1982 due to a crack. The Crager SS wheels were added in 1987, original Rally wheels are in the Crager boxes and original rally spare with Polyglass tire. There is typical surface rust on the frame as expected with a unrestored car.
Interior- Original White interior, nothing was replaced in the interior except for the carpet which was done in 1985, sun tach was added when new and then replaced in 1988. A cassette player was added under the dash in the early 80's. There is a crack in the center of the dash, instead of pulling the dash we added a cap in 2009. The hurst Thandle was added in the 80's as the original wood shifter knob was worn, I do not have the original knob. Seats, headliner, console, door panels have never been redone as seen in the pics.
Drivetrain- 400/4bbl, motor has never been out of car or rebuilt, doesn't leak anything and starts up every time, the original Rochestor carb has been rebuilt a few times. Service was done on a regular basis in the 70's,80's &90's. We added Hooker Super Comp headers in 1999 and Flowmaster mufflers, original exhaust manifolds are included. There is a couple exhaust leaks from the collector gasket and header gasket. The original M22 trans was removed and freshened up in 2006 since then the Speedo stopped working. In 1992 the original rear was making noise so he took the car to a shop to have the rear checked out and sadly the original 12bolt Safe T Track rear was stolen, at that time it wasn't easy to locate that same rear so he bought a rear from a friend of friend, that rear was from a 1969 GTO Judge, its a heavy duty 10bolt with 4.33 gears. When that was installed Lakewood traction bars were added and a heavy duty rear sway bar. After the 4.33 rear was installed the speedo was always off. There was a car alarm installed in the late 80's but it never worked right so it was disconnected but the box and wires are still there.
Feel free to ask questions or if you would like any specific pictures. The car will need little TLC as noted above, it is a surviver & been apart of our family for 47 years. I've had it stored for years in my garage and not sure I'm going to do anything with it & and just sitting is not a good thing.
Cash or certified bank check in person.
Shipping of course is arranged buy the buyer.
Thanks
