Car description |
---|
This Trans Am is a restoration project. I've owned it for about 10 years and was planning on restoring it but have too many other projects at this time and space to store some of my cars has run out. The car was running just fine when parked but at this point it will need the carb rebuilt and the fuel tank cleaned out to get it running again.
The engine cylinder heads appear to be the original 6X code heads. The engine block has a code of XS that is clearly stamped on the front of the engine block where it should be. Its unknown if this is the original block or not, but it is a 400 and appears to of been out of the car at some point due to the fact the block and heads are painted a slightly different color then the original color. It's unknown if the engine has been rebuilt or not. Check the engine code to see what its application should be if your unsure.
I do not know much about this cars past other then I acquired it from a friend who had a large collection of rare Pontiac Trans Am's and Firebirds that he raced. He had this car for a few years before I got it from him.
The car does have some rust issues with both rear quarter panels. The frame rails and floor pans are nice, including the trunk floor, etc. But the rear quarter panels need work. Otherwise the body is straight and appears to of never been damaged. All body panels appear to be original with the cars original paint showing around the edges and door jams including the underside of the trunk. The red repaint appears to of been an in expensive repaint from years back.
This Trans Am is basic in options. It's original color is Firethorn Red with a a red interior. The interior needs to be redone also.
One nice thing that has happened over the years, is the amount of reproduction parts that have become available for these cars. From exterior sheet metal including rear quarter panels to interior upholstery and trim. Just about everything is now available for these Trans Am's.
With the prices of the earlier 69 thru 73 Trans Am's continuing to climb, those earlier Trans Am prices make this 76 Trans Am a bargain. I firmly believe the 70 thru 81 Trans Am's will continue to climb in value as the years go on.
My reserve is low and very realistic.
This Trans Am comes with a clear Oregon title. I can store the car for a little while until a transport truck or the buyer can pick it up. The storage arraignments until the car is picked up, need to be reasonable and worked out with me.
Winning bidder needs to provide a $500.00 deposit within 48 hours after the auction ends and the balance paid within 7 days. If the buyer needs to make special arrangements regarding payment or shipping, the buyer needs to contact me to work those issues out.
If you have any additional questions regarding this car, please feel free to contact me and I'll try to answer those questions.
