Car description

A performance V8, four-on-the-floor, four-wheel disc brakes, and other great performance upgrades will already have you hooked. Of course, when it comes in a cool 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 convertible that has cold-blowing A/C, you soon realize this is the ideal classic. Burgundy Red Metallic is the perfect way to standout in a crowd. After all, it still has a boldness of red, but in a deeper and more sophisticated tone. It goes quite nicely with the black folding roof. Tthe paint's added metallic element really pops on a sunny day. But more than just a nice color, these first-gen Firebirds were instant classic thanks to the bold styling. It starts with the unique chrome bumper that gives the whole front end Pontiac's wide track look. Good bodywork helps make sure items like the crease that runs from nose to tail is crisply defined, and you recognize the ribbed quarter panels are a cool contrast to help break up the otherwise smooth body. This one really has a great look that blends classic elements like 400 callouts on the hood scoops with standout upgrades like the 17-inch Ridler 5-spoke alloys. The deep red interior looks great against the exterior burgundy, and it gives this classic American a European-like color combo. There has been a solid investment in the restoration and only about 500 miles on the car since then, so everything looks quite nice. You have great classic elements like the strato bucket seats and wood appearance on the dash that flows to the center console. There are even provisions for a hood tach. These are joined by the right upgrades like the a retro-style AM/FM stereo and modern R134a air conditioning that allows you to stay cool with the top down. Plus, you get the right performance upgrades like a sports steering wheel (power steering), auxiliary gauges, and a Hurst shifter. Even with all these other upgrades, your favorite ones will be under the hood. It looks polished and tidy, which makes you want to show off this performance package. It starts with Pontiac's famous 400 cubic-inch V8 that has been bored .30 over and given a mild cam. Which, according to the owner, was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago. It also has the right supporting components like an Accel electronic ignition and an aluminum radiator. This enhanced V8 inhales deeply from a Holley dual-feed four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. And coated headers feed a chambered dual exhaust for added power and a sweet rumble. Best of all, you are in complete control over this big V8 and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the four-speed manual transmission which is believed to have been rebuilt the same time as the engine. In fact, control is a central theme to this build with added features like traction bars, modern low-profile tires, and a full four-wheel disc brake package with slotted & vented rotors. Complete with the original warranty card and service manuals, this is a classic droptop muscle car done right. Call now!
