NO RESERVE
1974 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400. This is a real deal, numbers matching, spent 43 years in southern California, Formula 400, 4 barrel, dual exhaust car with factory A/C. Why have a screaming chicken on the hood when you can have twin snorkel hood scoops. Overall, this is an excellent original example of the Formula. It come with its original 400/4 engine which still produced 225hp in 1974.
This car is a great cruiser. Starts right up (though cold starts in winter it takes a little longer) and runs and drives down the road without issues. I got this car out of southern California, original blue plate and registration is still current (until Nov 30) and it as clean underneath as it is on the top. It is free of rust or other typical issues associated with these cars. There is zero bubbling on the body, it is not full of bondo to hide anything, and all the areas under the car that typically are rusted out (frame rails, trunk, floors, etc) are clean and free of rust. Paint on this is nice and shines excellent. Pictures were on a cloudy day, but it is deep shine. It has been repainted at sometime in its life, so there are a couple flaws if you look hard at it, but at 2-3ft its very nice. You can take it to the car show and show it with pride. No dents or dings, very small minor crack on front nose about 1/2in but not severe. Chrome and trim is good.
Wheels are 17in Honeycomb wheels and are wide (17x9) on new tires and Pontiac center caps. these are new and I added these for the "proper look" to the tune of $1700. The car has been gone over and recently had the original carb rebuilt, new engine mounts and transmission mounts, new battery cables, new brake master cylinder, rotors, pads (front), and suspension bushings. It is originally an A/C car and it is operational and cool.
The interior is in good shape, only real flaws are the seat belts are original and looking a little old. Gauges are not fully operational and intermittent. Tach and speedo are mostly NON-operational, fuel gauge reads 1/4 high, clock is non-operational. Water, oil, voltage gauges are operational.
I have enjoyed this car and originally wanted to do a pro touring set of modifications on this car since the body was so clean. Once I found out how original the car was, I chose to keep it very close to the original rather than modifying.
Car is in very good shape so bid with confidence. However, due to the age of this car, it is sold AS-IS. Title is in hand. I am selling at no reserve so have your finances in order prior to bidding. We are all adults here, so save the "my son bid on it", "I lost my job", or other lame, BS, excuses. This is a classic car and you can get financing on it, but many banks will not so if unsure clear that before bidding. Terms are cash in hand, cashiers check, or bank wire. NO PAYPAL.
