This is fun time cruising machine with thousands of dollars of upgraded performance racing parts. If you're looking for an all original Trans Am with original parts, you're looking at the wrong car and in the wrong price range. You need to be looking at the ones priced in the $35K to $50K price range or more. However, if you're looking for a hot rod cruiser with the body of a 70's Bandit Special, you've found the right one. Just in time for her 40th anniversary birthday party too.
This Trans Am used to have a 428 K-code 6.6L automatic transmission engine. It now has a $6,800 Chevy 383 Crate Engine with 500HP and 500ft/lbs of torque with a Dyno proof sheet from Patriot Performance. Loaded with a Holley 870 CFM 4 barrel race carburetor, Edelbrock Aluminum Air-Gap Intake Manifold, Hedman Long Tube Headers with heat wrap, Aluminum 4 row racing radiator with dual electric fans, et al. When the hood is closed, the carburetor air-intake is sealed to the open shaker hood scoop with a sealed carb plate. (Pretty friggin' sweet.)
This bird is equipped with a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission with a stall converter and highway gears. (The car would really respond off the starting line with a better gear ratio in back. But, it will go from 60mph to 120mph in a blink of an eye.)
She really enjoys long cruises on the highway. It's not a city driver. She gets angry having to endure lots of red lights.
The paint is good driver quality with a few minor chips. There are two very small rust spots on the lower left quarter on the driver side. (It has been Bondo'ed before and is not at risk of spreading, but this spot could probably use a slight touchup.)
The interior has new deluxe cloth seat covers, new deluxe door panels, new dash carpet cover, new rear shelf cover, nice carpet with no tears or rips anywhere, Kenwood CD Stereo with 6x9 speakers in the rear. The headliner and T-Tops are in great shape.
She has the WS6 Snowflake Wheels with new center caps and emblems on BF Goodrich T/A Radial tires in great shape with plenty of tread left. It has factory drum rear brakes and a new master brake cylinder up front.
All lights and gauges work except the RPM gauge. Tagged with Clear Texas Title.

Known issues:
• The car does not like to drive between 35mph & 40mph. There's a tender spot in the gear change if you are trying to drive somewhere around 37mph where it can't decide whether to be in 2nd or 3rd gear. It will jump back and forth between gears if you try to drive in this 37mph range. It's best just to get her on the road and up over 40mph. She loves cruising between 50mph & 90mph. Or stay under 35mph when cruising back in for a pit stop.
• This is basically a race car engine in a coupe, and it does get hot. On 100ºF+ days in Texas, she has experienced vapor lock from time-to-time. She likes cooler to moderate ambient temperatures under 90ºF. If she does get hot on you on a scorching summer day, you may find yourself having to pull over and wait 10 to 15mins to let her cool down.
• The turn signal lever on the steering wheel needs to be fixed. Currently, it will click up and hold in place for a right turn, but you have to hold it down in place with your hand while making a left turn. Easy fix for someone mechanically inclined or for your local mechanic.
