1993 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am- Concours Classifying this very low mileage 1993 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with the Hagerty classic car valuation tool rates this vehicle in the Concours category, the #1 category of vehicle condition and receives the highest valuation of all categories. This Firebird Trans Am has been driven less than 400 miles per year, and has been a personal vehicle through the 3 previous owners. The Carfax vehicle history report is clean, there have been no accidents or damage reported. Production of this 4th generation Firebird Trans Am beginning in 1993 and got the 5.7-liter LT1 V-8 similar to the one in the 1992 Corvette, though it had more restrictive intake and exhaust. The exterior shared many similar features with the wheelbase and other exterior dimensions carried over from the previous generation. This year market the first use of non-metal body panels; the rear quarter panels and the hood were steel, but the rest of the body was polymer composite material or reaction-injection-molded (RIM) plastic. The exterior freshening carried the Banshee look to a new extreme, with a new pointed snout flanked by twin air openings and a new aero extension kit with twin round fog lamps centered below the peak of the nose. Mechanically these vehicles had many new technology features under the hood and around the rest of the car; the new LT1 engine was rated at 275-hp, a 35-hp improvement over the previous L98 engine. The 5.7L LT1 engine was the only engine offered in the T/A. 4-wheel ABS was included for the first time as standard equipment; the ws6 suspension package is included on the T/A and the tires have been upgraded to Goodyear Eagle GS-C Radial with a Z speed rating. The front suspension was changed to a Short and Long Arm Arrangement (SLA), and deCarbon mono-tube shocks were used as well; the steering system features a rack-and-pinion setup for the first time. Inside the 4th generation T/A is fitted with an all new interior, including a standard passenger side airbag; a locking glovebox was added along with a cupholder mounted in the center console for convenience.
