Car description |

You are looking at a project that was never started..... So you can see in the background of picture #2, I decided to buy the frame off restoration already done. Which I am also selling currently in auction 263943688613. I am currently selling both cars, as I don't have time to fix this one, and I don't have enough time to enjoy the other. So, what a better time to sell than with Burt Reynold's untimely death in people's minds.
As in my other listing, I pay to tribute to him and the movie Smokey and The Bandit for getting myself and most of the world a passenger seat in this iconic car. Because of the movie, I bought my first Trans Am with T-tops at the age of 15.
I have owned this car several years, but have not done much research, or have had much information to share. The Pontiac Trans Am community can probably answer several of the questions, but I will do my best to describe and answer as many questions as I can.
The previous owner told me that he did not ever start the vehicle as long as he had it......so, add that to my ownership time, and it has probably has not been started in over a decade. When I bought it, the engine would turn over, but we did not have an extra battery to get it turning fast enough. As of 09/15/2018, I put a new battery connected to it and tried to start it....It would NOT turn over. This week I will get a breaker bar and socket to see if it is seized or just needs a new starter. I will post the results as soon as possible to give everyone the update.
Over the years this car has been moved from storage facility to facility and finally I could afford a building. So, take a good look.....I DID NOT try to clean this car to make it look like it has been detailed all this time.....Unfortunately the opposite, it has been in a dirt floor "boat" storage for about 6 months, Where it got all the moisture .....Then moved to a concrete storage where it was in a much better environment. It is currently in a building that I own that is kept clean and protected from the elements.
The engine, I had hopes that it was a number matching....BUT NO. I have added the last 3 pictures of the VIN, Y6 engine code and Engine VIN 2 ? N101353......The 2nd number is not fully legible, but I believe that it is a , which represents 1976. The engine and compartment seems to be complete....the manifold is Edelbrock. As I indicated before, I will continue to investigate the functionality of the engine.
I have several rims for this car, 2 sets....as you can see the front driver's rim has been painted..( it is not an SE rim) If you want to use the original SE rims, they will need to be reconditioned. I have the car on tire dollies to be able to move the car around my shop, so some pictures may look uneven.
A couple things that I have noticed between this car and my other is the Silver Hurst Hatch T-tops vs. Black T-tops, I do not have a good answer for this? The power door locks on this car are on the door panels, where on my other has a "remote" locking switch on the dash. There are several parts in the trunk, which include trim pieces and replacement quarter panels for the rear.
As you can see, this will need a complete restoration from top to bottom and some pieces that have been removed over the years. I am selling it as is with whatever parts that are in the pictures..(minus the tire dollies of course). So, I am currently giving everyone the ability to purchase either a COMPLETE FINISHED RESTORATION.....OR .....A PROJECT TO RESTORE.
Take you pick, as to how you want to enjoy your fun....Now, During...Or later with these 2 options !
Thanks for interest in my 2 1977 Pontiac Trans Am SE's !

Update: I received a request for the cowl tag, which it better explains the options that came factory. I hope this assists anyone who has doubts about the car, I wish I had a PHS report, but did not think of it.Good luck to all bidders.
