Car description

This is a 1989 Indy 500 turbo Trans Am Pace Car. Read this description to find out why this one is a one of a kind Pace Car with documentation. I am using the Buy it Now or offer auction which is fairest kind. You can reach me on 901 277-3678 with questions or clarifications. It is listed to sell.

There is lots of information on line about these cars. I can't cover everything in this description sosearch if not familiar with these cars.

This particular car was one of the 150 used at the track during the month for Indy 500 festivities. It was the 114th produced out of 150 that went to the track. The pic of the windshield with the 145 decal is the number the track assigned. There is PHS documentation to verify this info.

All of the cars sent to the track had cloth seats and-Tops. Of the total production of 1555 only 187 had the cloth and T-Tops while 1348 had leather seats. If it had leather it definitely was not used at the track.

After the race around 100 of the track cars were sold to GM employees. This particular car was sold to Dick Simon who was a driver at Indy and in 1989 owned a racing team. After he bought the car he added speed enhancements and as you can see an external Turbo Boost control below the gauges--see Pic. The 1989 TTA was advertised as the fastest production car that year and this one is even faster with the work done by Dick Simon Racing. IT ALL WORKS!!

Speaking of working, everything on this car works as new. The A/C has been restored and works great. The cruise control works as do the headlight doors and the radio and cassette. All of the steering wheel controls also work. The rear hatch opener and pull down work as designed and the T-Top covers are in the hatch-see Pic.

This Trans AM drives wonderfully and has been tuned by a Grand National specialist. Always starts right up and can drive anywhere. The are no rips or tears or blemishes on the interior. the exterior is straight and all decals are present including the Dick Simon Racing Team on the windshield. All four wheels are perfect and the tires are brand new. The only pic that I want to disclose is there are a couple of small cracks where the plastic spoiler attaches to the rear tailgate, which is very normal for those spoilers.

The underneath is also very clean and it has a 3 inch stainless exhaust-see pics.

This is a driver quality car (miles)that is a blast to drive and you can also be proud to show it. Very fast and very reliable and all there including original key chain, keys and dealer docs including hard to find owner's supplement manual. It even has the fuse in the package to control the light under the hood. They were not installed when sent to dealer to keep battery from failing if hood was kept open.

Reach me on 901 277-3678 to discuss. I am a dealer in TN and this has been my personal toy. There will be absolutely no dealer fees associated with this sale. Your purchase price is it unless you live in TN and then sales tax must be collected. Thanks for looking and good luck.
