Car description

Drop the top, throw on some tunes, and change your mood. This beautiful goat has been properly brought back to life after sitting for ages. Kick down a gear and open all six barrels, instant smile on your face. PHS documents and CHP VIN verified. I have driven more than a thousand fun filled miles in the past few months since completion, and she has never let me down. Clean CA title in my name, I am not a dealer. Previously titled in Arizona with 29,262 box "a" (actual) miles. Multiple receipts dating back to 1970. This is a driver's car that will win shows and you can have a blast enjoying it with your friends. Not a concours restoration, and the reserve is set accordingly. This is an authentic GTO you can truly enjoy driving, and not have the anxiety that comes with owning a $75,000 trailer queen. I throw my golf clubs in the trunk and valets always park it in front of the Maseratis and Bentleys here in Orange County.
Original motor was rebuilt and dyno tested at 342hp. Freshly serviced trans updated to TH350 with shift kit utilizing original console shift. Updated tri power featuring finely tuned Rochesters. Updated aluminum radiator, Pertronix ignition and coil. Complete MOOG front end rebuild with Eibach springs. Rebuilt power steering box and fresh brakes on all four corners. New wheel bearings, fresh rear end service, brand new fuel lines, new brake lines. Brand new custom exhaust. Not too loud, but not too quiet. In my opinion its perfect for a convertible. Effortless cruising in the left lane and she hasn't left a drop on my floor since completion. The running gear is fully dialed and ready to go anywhere.
Body and paint are very nice. Original Cameo Ivory was re sprayed I am told in 2016, and it shines beautifully. A real joy to wipe down and appreciate but it is not 100% perfect. There is a tiny booger on the lower rear corner of both doors. I included a pic of the worst side. There are a couple normal thin spots on front fender peaks, but not noticeable unless really looking. The rockers have been reinforced. All gaps are nice, doors open and close with ease. Original sill plates, I believe all the metal is original. Some normal touch up paint along the door jams. The frame is boxed and re inforced in all four corners. I drive on the freeway and there are little flaws from normal driving. Glass is great, a lot of new rubber, and a little original.
The top is brand new, and so is the cylinder. Works perfect and all the mechanicals are in excellent condition. Includes original boot in great shape for 50+ years, all weak clips were replaced. Interior is beautiful. I think its original. No rips, tears or major stains. It shows normal wear for its age, but its absolutely stunning. Original seat belts work perfect. Dash in great shape, no major cracks or cuts. Factory option rally gauges, the tach is not working since installing Pertronox coil, but everything else works fine. I am 6'3" and installed extended seat tracks for a very comfortable driving position. Factory radio is not hooked up but pretty sure it works. I use bluetooth speaker. I bypassed the heater core when I saw a drop of coolant on passenger floor mat after running heat for a while. The blower and mechanicals work fine. Kick panel vents work perfect.
This is fine example of a low mileage American icon that you can drive anywhere. Pontiac made 12,798 convertibles, a fraction of Mustang production numbers (72,000 convertibles Ford made). Many mustangs go unnoticed, but the goat makes its presence known. Fortunately almost every part is avail through OPG and Ames etc. This car brings happiness, and will undoubted appreciate in value. Mileage will go up slightly as I am driving the car daily. Will be at GoodGuys Del Mar. Call or text with questions PST (760) 822-0269 I will add videos asap.
