Car description

This sweet 1979 Pontiac Trans Am shows just over 59k miles and is powered with it's factory 400ci V8 linked to a 4-speed manual transmission, and T-tops. Fewer than 3,000 T/As were made with this powertrain and trim combination, and this white over red example is also equipped with factory WS6 performance suspension and air conditioning. Also encluded hi-po powertrain option, dual exhaust, and Edelbrock intake manifold. An older repaint in white has replaced the original Platinum according to its trim tag. It's equipped with the dished 15×8? "snowflake" wheels that match the factory package, wearing BFGoodrich white-letter rubber. Removable Fisher T-top panels appear clean along with other glass. Inside, Carmine red Deluxe seats wear presentable and correct "Hobnail" fabric center inserts. The thick-rimmed factory wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and a cue-ball shift knob has replaced the original item. Mounted in a turned aluminum panel with light pitting, factory instrumentation works as intended, including a five-digit odometer showing a believed-accurate 59k miles. Air conditioning is equipped and appears complete. Remaining accessories also function properly, including the clock, horn, and a modern stereo powering aftermarket speakers in the rear parcel shelf. The Pontiac 400ci V8 underhood was the high-performance option of the day and was indicated by the Z in the VIN. Factory ratings of 220 horsepower and 320 ft. lbs. of torque were impressive numbers for 1979, though this car feels substantially more powerful thanks to modifications such as an Edelbrock intake and a true dual exhaust with 4-into-1 headers and no catalytic converter. Tall rocker covers are also fitted and further engine work is thought to have taken place, though unknown. The underside appears solid and clean, with superficial corrosion on running gear. The WS6 suspension package included larger front and rear sway bars along with rear disc brakes. All panel gaps look even and panels present straight lines throughout (aside from a shallow dent in the passenger door), no noticeable rust present. Clean Florida Title.
