Car description

A top-quality build with the best of everything that's what this 1965 Pontiac GTO tribune restomod has to offer. After all, with a tri-power V8, upgraded five-speed, upgraded suspension, an A/C interior, and award-winning paint, this the one classic you can enjoy driving anywhere and showing off everywhere.
The paint that's instantly grabbing your attention is called Iris Mist, and it's this coupe's factory-correct color. GM only offered it for one year, and today it has been given the kind of professional respray that earned it the Best Paint award at the Muscle Car 1000 rally. So it's not only going to draw crowds, but also you've got a cool story to tell them. But a color like this needs a stellar canvas, and that's why you can tell there was plenty of time taken to get the panels looking straight and correct. Then they added the purple pinstripe to really highlight this level of work (and don't you just love how it matches the deeper shade of plum complements the custom convertible top?) You can see this color combo so vividly today because there's only about 4,300 miles on this droptop since completing restoration in 2009. And the full investment in this GTO tribute was worth it. After all, with only a few hundred dollars separating them, the '65 LeMans convertible is nearly as rare as the GTO droptop. And while you'll be mesmerized by the GTO grille, mirror-like bumpers, hood scoop, and all the correct trim, don't let a cool upgrade go unnoticed. The best muscle cars of the '60s were upgraded to Hurst wheels and redline tires. And if you look close at these, you'll realize it's a custom set of larger 17-inch wheels with modern low-profile rubber. This is a nice hint at the upgrades under the skin.
There's more evidence of quality investments the moment you lay eyes on the factory-correct parchment interior. The bucket seats are crisp right down to the correct arrowhead emblem embossed into each one. Matching door panels with correct GTO emblems compete this bright package. But this is a car that was built to hop into on a whim, and so the dark carpets mean never having to worry about dusty shoes. And speaking of impulses, you can go from enclosed comfort to a wind-in-you-hair experience at a moment's notice. The power windows and power convertible top mean you don't even have to leave the driver's seat. And air conditioning means you get to stay as cool as you look even in the summer season. The wood applique dashboard with the round rally gauge cluster looks positively European, and it's a great complement to the thin woodgrained three-spoke steering wheel (power steering). Plus, a nice jet age center console does a great job of uniting the feeling of premium and performance together in one package. And have you counted the gears on the Hurst shifter yet?
Pontiac's famous 389 cubic-inch V8 is a legend that doesn't need much introduction. But when you pop the hood at the car shows, people will gravitate to what's on top of this V8 first. It's the famous tri-power setup of the trio of Rochester two-barrel carburetors. And more than just look great, you can tell by the way this powerhouse fires up readily and growls out of the Flowmaster dual exhaust that it's as eager to hit the road as you are. And just to make sure all the power gets to the ground properly, you have a Tremec TKO600 five-speed manual transmission. Oh yeah, that makes this custom convertible perfect for everything from overdrive cruising to downshifting into performance driving. And there have even been the right suspension upgrades to go with the big power. You have great features like Bilstein shocks, Hotchkis trailing arms, and Hotchkis sway bars. There's even big four-wheel disc brakes to go with the performance tires.
So no matter if you're on the Power Tour or just want to be the coolest commuter, this is the classic that can do it all. But the only way to turn heads tomorrow is if you call today!
