In 2009 Carlos Valteau painted the car for Javier. giving it a Metalflake panel paint job. The clear on the car cracked. and the car was never completed. It sat for a few years before Javier sold it off. The next owner gave the car a primer paint job before he also sold it off. [1] In February of 2014 Charles Simpson of Ladonia. Texas bought the car on eBay. He bought it from Randy Patterson of Patterson Racing in Southern California. By then the car had been covered in grey primer. Charles did not know what was under the primer until he started to block it down for paint. He was quite shocked when he discovered the crazy paint job underneath. and he thought that he had stumbled across an old Larry Watson paint job. 73 years young Charles worked on the car everyday. and by June of 2014 he had carefully sanded away all of the primer. With help from an airbrush guy. Charles wants to complete the build as it was first supposed to be. [2]
