Car description |
---|
I bought this as a winter project and I'm never going to be to able to get around to it for a long time so I'm listing it for someone else who might want a rare car to tinker on and restore. Which honestly kind of isn't great considering I love these. I own and drive a '76 Grand Lemans so it does ease the pain a bit.
This a 1975 Pontiac Grand Am. It's one of little less than 9,000 built.
This car has the following options: Factory power sunroof(works-needs switch replaced-have the original switch),cornering lights,8 track(working-have not tested the 8 track player),rear defroster(working),cruise,tilt,power windows(working),power seats(working),power locks(working).
Engine is the factory 400 2 barrel. All of the glass is good and body is very straight only needing some minor work here and there.
I just had the heater core replaced although it might need some more attention. New fuel pump, wires, spark plugs are also in.
Will need an oil change before you can drive it. Car starts and runs and moves.
Brakes are good.
I want to make something very clear: No,you can not fly up here and drive it home. It will need some more work before you can drive it on the street and feel good about it. It is a project car,not a daily driver although it can be with very little work. It will go up and down on a truck and around the block if you wish but I would want someone to be safe before deciding to go anywhere with it.
The car has a ton of "patina". It was in primer at one time and most of that has worn off. You can blow up the pictures and see there isn't any Bondo or any shoddy body work done here. The filler on the car is where the factory put under the vinyl top. The floors, trunk and frame are rock solid. The rust in the trunk is scale and will come off with a wire brush.
The original color combination on this car was silver, red interior, red top and the red, white and blue stripe package.
Feel free to ask any questions if you have any,but I've pretty much covered it.
Want to add-the car is very complete and most everything is there minus the Rallye II's and the rear speaker covers which fell apart from the sun.
Before anyone burns me for the "Firebird" title-I had to do it so I could list it through eBay. I know what the difference is.
