Car description

A CLASSIC AMERICAN ICON FOR DRIVING OR RESTORING! Here is my classic 1984 Pontiac Trans Am 15th Anniversary 1 of 1500 Recaro Edition I have decided to sell. It is in what I would call "above average" condition and has been garage kept up on jack stands for the last year and a half or so and that is how it is pictured in this listing. You will be hard pressed to find one at this price in this condition anywhere. Background check certified. it has never sustained any serious damage. only a light area on the right door that was professionally repaired in late 1991. This is a great car that could be easily restored to original by the right person. It looks sharp in the daylight with a killer stance. nbsp;and it was a real head-turner and conversation piece at the muscle car shows when I took it to them. Not to mention it is a blast to drive! I started to rebuild the engine to add some gumption to it and had to put the project on hold for other reasons. So I started tearing the motor down and got as far as the intake and motor components and had to stop. I had the factory original heads professionally rebuilt at the cost of $800. 00 and that included new springs and hardware. and the ports were hand enlarged and matched as well. They will bump the horsepower in this car to about 400 with a new carb and intake. I also purchased brand new Hedman Headers "shorty headers" to up the air flow. a brand new catalytic converter delete pipe and new camshaft and lifters with all the gaskets and hardware to do the job right and it is all still in the original boxes as pictured. I also have everything I took off of it to start on the block build up. Including the alternator. starter. brackets. water pump. etc. etc. see the pics. When I parked this car to do all of this work it ran perfectly with no issues. Meaning. no major oil leaks and not burning oil. no pressure or overheating issues and no knocks or rattles. The transmission is original to this car and it shifts strong and smooth as well. I changed the fluids on a regular basis. I kept air pressure up in the tires and always maintained the mechanics of the car as best as I could with regular oil changes. front end alignment and all the other little things to keep her running well. The interior is in what I would call good condition with only a few easily remedied issues to mention. It needs a headliner as the moisture made it sag badly so I just took it out. The carpet suffered some mild water damage in the rear and was partially removed. The seats. dash and console are all very nice to be 31 years old. The dash top pad has a cracked area in the center as pictured and the drivers seat has a little wear on the left vertical panel but not bad and thats about it. The radio cassette player is original but does not work too well(typical GM). There is some light fading to some of the interior panels on the sail panels and rear interior trim panels but not too much. This car has had the ball joints replaced. the brakes replaced. the rear end cover replaced with new rear end grease installed. I put new Falken tires on it about 3 years ago. It always fired right up and ran smooth and strong from day one. The body has only a few small items to mention. First the left fender is borderline in need of replacement because it is dented(a deer ran out in front of me but no police report was ever done). otherwise just a few small dings here and there and only some light surface rust in a few places(one place on the right quarter was sealed by a friend of mine with black rust inhibitor). No major rust at all to the body and this is and has always been a Southern life car. Car sat for a little while in a yard where grass grew up around it so it has some light surface staining to one area on each of the wheels and wheel stripes where the tires went flat. The t-tops are in great shape and they still lock with the factory key. This car also has the original black GM storage bag for the t-tops that straps to the rear deck panel. Check the pictures and ask any questions about anything. I will be glad to answer them. The mileage on the odometer is the original mileage according to the original owner I bought this car from and from all the research I have done it appears that it is. I have included a picture of the current NADA value of this car in just about all of the conditions one might be in. I have a reserve on this car based loosely around the current low retail NADA price. I have done this since the motor is partially torn down and will have to be put back together along with a new carb and intake (about $300. 00 for good ones). Please ask any questions you may have about this car. It is a true LIMITED PRODUCTION American muscle car. Thank you for looking and bidding on my car. It should be noted that I will need a $500. 00 non refundable Paypal deposit after the auction ends within 24 hours and the remaining balance to be paid with 7 days from the auction end date with no exceptions when it is picked up. I require a cash payment on this car when it is picked up and do not accept any types of personal checks or money orders. I will accept a Cashiers Check as long as it is within normal business hours and banks are open to verify it is in fact going to clear. The buyer is responsible for all charges to have this car picked up from me here in Tennessee.
