1979 Pontiac Trans Am. 6.6 liter 403 V-8 engine with turbo 350 automatic transmission. Pwr Brakes, Pwr Steering, AC, Pwr windows, AM/FM CD Aux, Original California car. CA reg, title, and original blue / yellow CA Lic plates included.Bought this Trans Am for my sons 14th birthday as a 'father son project' that we would complete over the two year period before he turned 16 . My son actually wanted a 1970 split bumper Z-28, but my wallet sai, "no." There was a house in the neighborhood that had a backyard full of cool 1970s cars and among them was a faded yellow 1979 Trans Am. I chatted with the owner on several occasions and finally made a deal which included a NOS set of the Gold Bird decals (after all what is an iconic TA without the trademark bird on the hood).. There is a possibility that this car is a WS6.. but I can not guarantee that. Give me a call and I will explain. When I bought the car, the paint was faded beyond saving. The body was rust free with just a few dings. The interior had been recently reupholstered by a competent shop in Mexico, although the bucket seats had been done in a velour rather than the factory vinyl. .. it looked great and velour is way better in the hot summer temps. than vinyl. Keeping the car original down to the last detail certainly was not our goal, however we wanted to keep a factory look, thus we found a set of 15x7 honeycomb wheels and got rid of the aftermarket rims & oversized tires. By the time my son turned 16, the Trans Am was ready to roll in style. He drove the car everyday to high school (always had a girlfriend ) and took very good care of the car. Unfortunately during his Junior year the crankshaft broke. We got VERY lucky and found a TA being parted out that had a 403 that had been rebuilt a month before the wreck.. A quick inspection under the valve cover and a compression check verified the sellers story. While we had the engine out the turbo 350 was rebuilt. My son is now 23 and decided he wants a commuter car that gets better gas milage. If you have a 2013 -14 VW GLI, maybe work a trade?
Paint still shines and looks almost new although a couple rust bubbles are showing on the trunk lid. Few very small chips that have been touched up. Not a show car but a driver. The gets compliments every time we drive it.

Sounds like a lot of issues, but the car is a driver. With a new carb. I would be confident driving the TA from LA to New York without issues. We did a compression check recently and all the cylinders are strong.
This car is a great investment which will hold its value with interest.
