Car description |
---|
Up for yourconsideration is my 1971 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400. This is a PHS Historic Services documented original car. All documentation comes with the car. Original 400 CID engine, 4 BBL Carb, 4 Speed manual transmission with Hurst Shifter, Factory Honeycomb wheels (with originalchrome trim rings), andalso included is a set of 4 original Pontiac Rally Wheels that came with the car. The original owner ordered both from the dealer. The car was purchased new at Larry H. Miller Pontiac in Salt Lake City. I have theoriginal clear title in hand from the '70's.
This car is truly a non-restored original time capsule. The engine runs great and is smooth. No funnynoises (knocks or pings), no fluid drips, and no smoking. Original carburetor was recently rebuilt and works great. Transmission shiftslike it should and it's a runner. The brakes work well and all gauges work as they should. The dash clock still works and even keeps accurate time. This car has been kept in a climate controlled garage, not a barn, soyou won't find it crawling with spiders and rodent crap. Rear quarters, behind the wheels, have some rust. The rust hasn't gone into the trunk, the trunk is solid. Classic Industries has the needed patch panels for these areas and are very inexpensive.
This is the perfect candidate for anoriginal restoration andwould be a greataddition to the Pontiac enthusiastscollection. As you can see from the photos she needs some TLC All systems operate as they should including all lights and the horn. The car is in great condition for being 46 years old and for never having been through a restoration. It could also be enjoyed as a daily driver just the way it is. This car hasnever been abused, raced, or hot rodded. They're rapidly climbing in value and getting harder to find in original, unmolested condition. Most that you seeout there have been beat to death, had engine swaps, etc...
I'm happy to discuss the car on the phone with serious buyers. Email me your phone number and I will give you a call. Please only bid if you have the ability to follow through and purchase the car. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I'm happy to help on my end to make sure all goes smooth with your transport. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time for any reason. The car is being sold as is with no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied. I'm open to fair and reasonable offers. Lowballers ... don't waste your time or mine. If we agree on a good offer for both of us I'm willing to end the auction early with a buy it now.
Thanks for looking and good luck !
