Re-listing with new photographs. While prepping car for pickup - changing a flat tire - found a new dent. We had our garage door changed earlier this year and may have happened then. I could not work out it out with buyer to mutual satisfaction. All photos taken today with exception of VIN plate. What you see is what you get.
REAR WHEELS NOW TURN. The high bidder from previous listing told me after the fact that he would attempt to pickup the car without a winch. I thought the sale would fall through when he attempted to pick it up, so I did some research and got it done. I adjusted the star screw behind the rear backing plates and the drum pads let go. With the car in neutral, it ROLLS. You may very well be able to arrange a carrier to pickup the car, but buyer takes full responsibility for pickup. The car does NOT run.
If you read the previous auction, someone asked for a photo of the data plate. I looked for one and found it was gone. The high bidder from the previous listing asked me to look for it. I took off the screen above the windshield wipers and used a shop vac to get between the panels. The data plate was not found.
Three owner 1969 Pontiac GTO in need of frame off restoration located in Slidell, Louisiana. I have stored the car for about a decade and hold a clean title ready to sign over to the next owner. My Uncle was the second owner. He bought it used from a dealership in New Orleans and was told the first owner bought it new in California, and on his trip of the USA traded it in for a new car. My Uncle ran over a fence and drove it home. He parked it in the family shed before joining the Navy in 1978. The shed needed to come down about ten years ago and I've been storing it. The odometer reads "20773.8" but has probably rolled over and actual mileage is likely 120773.
The block and head have the following markings: 9790071 on the rear and YS stamped on the front. There is a number above the YS, but it is hard to make out. I will be happy to send the photos if requested.
The driver's side door does not open. The driver's side 'cornering light' is intact. There is a rock chip in the windshield. All other glass looks good. It's never had a carburetor while in my possession. The exhaust behind manifold rusted away. I removed the gas tank and threw it out because there was nothing left to it and I needed to access the lock to open it. I do not have the original keys, so changed out the cylinder in order to put the transmission in N. The rear diff has dripped some oil this week from my jacking the car off to remove the flat tire. I didn't know before if the diff was dry, but it's apparently had oil this whole time. I previouslyattempted to turn over the engine at the crank with a breaker bar. I didn't put more than hand pressure, but it would not turn over. I have not attempted to pour oil or solvents into the motor. The valence is in the picture of the 'trunk' but only one valence light is present.
Similar cars with no dents go for about $10K. This one is wrecked and has lots of rust. It would be worth very little except for it has the original power train and some rare options including: hideaway headlights, 'cornering lights' which are both intact, column shifter, and... BENCH SEAT.
All sales final. I am willing to store the car in my garage until you pick it up for up to 30 days after auction close. FULL payment is marked as "within 3 days of auction close" but I will accept payment being sent within 3 days if you send me a photo of the bank check and tracking information. No need to waste money on overnight shipping for a piece of paper. A paypal deposit is listed, but is NOT required. I had to put that on the auction to allow accepting full payment immediately through paypal with buy-it-now. If you win via auction, please send payment via bank check or with cash in person within three days.
Thank you for looking and happy bidding!
