Vinyl Interior SELLER REMARKS Station wagons have been hot for a few years now. so what's a guy to do now that everyone's seen it all? How about this ultra-rare 1956 Pontiac Yeoman wagon? You won't find another one at even the biggest shows and it has a 9/8 scale Nomad look that'll have everyone doing a double-take. A great cruiser and a practical hauler. this wagon definitely delivers!Painting it bright red means that there's going to be a lot of attention on you no matter where you go in this car. Everyone will probably mistake it for a Nomad. but if you park them side-by-side. you'll see that the Yeoman is just a bit bigger and when they catch on. they always smile just because it looks so right. Fit and finish are quite good and you know this was a labor of love because the pool of replacement parts is miniscule compared to its Chevrolet counterpart. Fortunately. all the trim remains intact. from the traditional Pontiac "silver streaks" along the hood to the simple trim that highlights the otherwise slab-sided bodywork. to the lower rocker panel moldings that seem to recall running boards of a bygone era. this car looks fantastic. It's also got great glass. including the rear windows. which are practically unobtainium today. A few traditional pinstripe details add to the custom look but don't distract from the first-rate presentation. The black interior has a few red and white highlights to add a sporty look. and the car's functionality is undiminished by the upgrades it's received. Tilt the seats forward and there's a good-sized back seat with a panoramic view through those big windows. and a woodgrained steering wheel has an OEM look that really works well. The factory instrument panel includes a very cool arched speedometer with auxiliary gauges in the lower panel. along with a positively massive under-dash A/C unit that's a smart addition for something with this much volume. A modern AM/FM/cassette stereo slots neatly into the dash. right below another set of custom pinstripes that really make the interior pop. As you'd expect. the cargo bay is positively massive and has been very nicely upholstered with matching black carpets and more red and white vinyl stripes for a consistent look and bright stainless rub strips to make it functional. What good is a sled like this if it isn't reliable. so it's powered by a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 with all the usual upgrades. There's an Edelbrock 4-barrel up top. a serpentine belt drive system from a late-model. and a set of slick-looking ram's horn exhaust manifolds that really help with noise and heat. A few dress-up parts make it look good even though the overall look is OEM. which is definitely a good thing. A dual master cylinder and a big electric fan up front add modern-day reliability and safety to the car and TH350 3-speed automatic transmission makes it a breeze to cruise. A custom exhaust system uses new Flowmasters and turn-downs just ahead of the rear axle and despite the lowered stance. most of the suspension is stock. so it rides nicely. Polished Torque Thrust wheels are always the right choice on a '50s car like this and they carry 215/75/15 blackwall radials that keep the subtle look. This is an awesome rare car that really attracts a lot of attention and is a first-rate road trip car thanks to all the amenities inside.
