1972 Pontiac Luxury LeMans
Very Rare Car! Only 8,000 Every Made, Fewer Left...
Last And Only Year Of The Luxury Line!
Last Year Of The A-body Style...
Clean And Clear Title!
For 1972, the top-line intermediate was the Luxury Le Mans, available in hardtop sedan and coupe models, featuring upgraded interiors compared to regular Le Mans models.
Pontiac had made some big changes in 1971 so 1972 didn't see much in the way of restructuring. However, one big addition included a plush Luxury LeMans featuring all Morrokide bucket seats in hardtop versions or notchback seats in other body styles.
WHAT IS THE STORY?
This car was originally sold in my home town at a local dealership brand new. It stayed in the townits whole life and eventually the family that bought it new passed it onto theirson to driveto school in the late 80s. My mother remembers her classmate driving it daily. Eventually the car was sold to a junk yard.
We saved this car from the crusher is 2006, when my parents bought it for my 16th birthday. When I found this gem it was beat up and tattered. The plan was to rebuild this car with my Father but we never got the chance because he passed away from cancer. I have tried to keep it sheltered most of the time I have had it, and to my knowledge it is only a 2 owner car.
I hate to see it go, but with a new wife and a budding family I need the cash more than the car. I have done the hard work, now all that is left is to put it back together and paint it! I will be as open as possible and try to describe this to the best of my ability.

WHAT HAS BEEN DONE?
After pulling it out of the junkyard, I took it to get a tune up and body work. It was professionally done and there was little to NO bond-o used in the repairs. The car was then stripped down and treated with primer to get ready to paint. Unfortunately, we never got that far... but, it was clear coated to protect the car and primer until it was ready to paint. That means that it only needs to be sanded down a little to reveal the primer and then painted.
The engine was grimy, but I got it running and running strong! That is until the starter went out and I just have not had the time or money to fix it. After the passing of my father I put the whole project on the back burner.
The car has been cleaned out and the interior gutted. I installed a new Pioneer deck for the radio and wired speakers. The speakers were never really installed, just set in place and more than likely they are now shot.
WHAT IS THERE? AND WHAT IS MISSING?
The suspension is all original and the car features drum brakes. However, I do have the parts for a disk system that I was going to convert it to. It may be missing a few pieces but the main parts are there. The frame is sound and to my knowledge it has not been in an accident.
When I bought the car the bucket seats were missing, but I bought a set to use. They are not the originals, but they are the same style. So, with new vinyl you would not know the difference. The rear seat is intact and actually in decent shape all things considered.
All of the other interior pieces are there and intact with the exception of the headliner and the carpet. I think I have an old headliner for it but I will have to double check.
I have all of the trim and other badges that came with the car as well as the original 1972 license plates! All are in decent shape and probably only need to be polished. Speaking of trim, the car came from the factory with a vinyl top, unfortunately time ripped it apart before I got to it and I have not bought a replacement.
The passenger side window is missing because of a rouge flying rock, but it has been cleaned up. I do however have a replacement windshield and the rest of the windows are in great shape! All of the old window trim was thrown away as it was rotten and will need to be replaced.
There are also a lot of extra parts as I had two of these cars to pick from. For example, a cam shaft, disk brakes, and various other parts. The rest of the car is intact from the bumpers to the motor. The only other thing I know it is missing is a key to the trunk. One of the keys fits, but it will not open it for whatever reason.
There are also a few pieces of fun documentation that came with this beauty.
