Car description

1979 Pontiac Trans Am, runs, drives, solid body, even rear quarter panels are solid.
Very rare Paint Code 51 Sundance Yellow T/A, see cowl tag photo.
The T/A spent most or all of its life in Southern Oregon where it is a dry climate.
To the best of my knowledge the Pontiac 301 is numbers matching but will confirm.
Factory 51 Sundance Yellow paint has been over-sprayed with another layer of yellow.
For those of you in the Eastern USA, this T/A has not experienced road salt winter after winter. In other words, in addition to the body not being corroded away by salt, the rear frame rails and rockers are not ate-up by salt. See photos of rockers.
The car runs and drives but is not roadworthy. Someone put in a start push-button in the lower dash. There is also a brake issue..but this is a project car and priced accordingly. It appears to have had the original drum brake booster replaced by brake booster for a disc brake rear.
The T/A has some dents as pictured. Body is very, very solid. A yellow T/A looks sharp with the T/A smoked tail lights and the other contrasting items.
The T/A will need a partial trunk pan repair. See photo. There is a small rust hole on top of the rear panel above the driver's side tail light and I will provide an OEM rear panel patch for this repair.
The quarter panels are solid despite this being a common 2nd gen problem; the floor pans are solid to the best of my knowledge.
Coupe top has had a sunroof installed. There is also some bondo covering what appears to be hole incurred for a CB or other antenna behind the sunroof.
The interior will need restoration. The original front seats are missing and it appears to have 3rd gen Camaro bucket seats that are in OK condition. Dash pad has cracks. Floor pans are solid as far as I can see. Refer to photo.
I will remove the Camaro steering hub and wheel that is in the photo and replace with a Camel Tan T/A hub and Camel Tan/silver spoke driver qualityTrans Am Formula steering wheel. It may not have the horn relay.
Someone sprayed over the Camel Tan Deluxe rear seat. The headliner side of the top has a lot of rust scale.
Shaker and shaker air cleaner are intact, shaker has had the back cut. Sway bars are intact. To the best of my knowledge the original drum posi is still on the car.
Car was wet when photos taken; I was going to buff the paint out to restore shine but have not got that far with it.
If you are looking for the condition of a $25K 1979 T/A show piece you may have to pay a lot more than my buy it now price for that level of a T/A. If you are looking for a $3-$4K Trans Am project, very likely it will have rusted out quarter panels, rusted out floor boards, and it likely will not run and drive.
T/A is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty express or implied including merchant-ability or fitness of use.
You may send your representative to inspect the vehicle.
This is a nice looking Trans Am that runs, drives, has a solid body, and left the factory in a veryrarecolor. Do not miss out on this one. It has great appreciation value.
