MotorFactory v-8 301 4.9Runs, just had carb. rebuilt
TransmissionAutomaticThe transmission shifts as it should, we do drive around the neighborhood. On the last drive, we did have to put the gear selector in neutral to crank, we called our mechanic,he stated a safety switch may have gone bad, he said a common problem with these Pontiacs. With this situation last time, it does go in to drive as it should, but noticed selector was having a bind going in reverse..not sure what that's about. Being honest, don't want person thinking of purchasing having any surprises.
BodyThe body, the frame is very solid, there is some surface rust going on with the drivers door at bottom, and a very very small pin hole in floor pan of back passenger side. So small if I didn't tell you might not recognize it. The trunk is solid, all areas of engine cowl, and back window are rust free. The gills in front bumper are missing? The steering wheel has been changed out by a previous owner, I don't know why. The gas door lid is chipped at edge.

OriginThis 1980 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo Pace car came from California, then to Georgia, Wepurchased from gentleman in Georgia.
SummationThis 1980 Pontiac Trans Am Pace Car, is very solid, while not perfect, the value is going up everyday on these Pontiacs. The motor runs great, turbo kicks on, we have had it up to 70 mph no problem. As in most cases, we ARE NOT asking a price of $27,000-$30,000. While we are not a auto dealer, we bought some cars as investments, to keep and restore, but there has came up someevents in our family, with much regret, and reluctantly, must sell.WE are aware the Pontiac needs restoration to be perfect, and what we have seen, most anything you would need to restore the T/A, you can find right here on EBA, at good fair prices. If I were keeping the T/A, I'd restore it from top to bottom, and IF you are thinking of purchasing a vehicle such as this, with the up and growing value of these cars, I'd think you would do the same.We say that to say this, WE ARE AWARE OF ITS PRESENT CONDITION, WE ARE AWARE OF WHAT IT NEEDS,AND WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, with all due respect, we have a price we are asking, PLEASE don't tell us what it needs, and what all it will need and take to make it right, for you to afford to buy it.For this kind of car, you need to look at the bones of the car- the body- its goodthe motor-Id rebuild, Transmission-Id rebuild, Interior-Id redo to factory standards, you can find on here, FATMANS T/A, or ARIZONIA GRAPHICS.If you only have money to purchase this car now, and want it perfect, then you can't afford it, unless you want to just put in a garage until such time you can restore, and that may not set right with you for me saying that...but we get calls from local market, telling us what it needs, what they have to pay to get don, how if they pay our price they cant afford to buy the car? yeah...and you folks know what we are saying. We are setting a reserve, and a buy it now price. If you can afford our price, and you can afford to put the T/A right...then bid to win or buy it.There is one thing for sure, we are not asking a new car price, and the value of these cars are not going down.Just my opinion....do as you please. We are not giving the Pontiac away, but we will consider all bids or offers.
