Very Rare
Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) documented
Built from the factory with Forty-One (41 !) optionS
1964 Pontiac Grand Prix was factory built with
and still has:
370 horsepower 421 cubic inch Tri-Power (3 2-barrel Rochester carburetors) carbureted High Output (H.O., Muncie M-20 4-speed manual transmission console, 3.42:1 gear ratio Safe-T-Track (positraction, Posi), tachometer, bucket seats, air conditioning, 8 lug wheels, as well as all the other options (see photos of factory list of options-tilt steering, tinted windows, power steering, heavy duty clutch are several more of the 41 options on this car)
Car was originally Alamo Beige
Numbers match; PHS runs and drives great; newer BFG tires; new exhaust
Runs, shifts and drives great on street and highway
A/C is out and have parts, but needs serviced; sounds like it needs rear control arm bushing; non- original Hurst shifter
Tri-power built and tuned by Ron Panzer (POCI tech adviser and Smoke Signals magazine columnist) before he passed- have 5 receipts from him dated 2011-2013; he also replaced the cam, lifters and related parts in 2013 (see photo of receipt)
Rebuilt tach, clock
Has its original, correct factory High flow exhaust manifolds (including "elbow" piece on passengers side HO manifold
Harry Samuels interiors seat cover brand new in boxes- need installed on seats; new headliner installed; back seat is immaculate (although there is a new seat cover for it in full interior kit); newly recovered perfect dash pad
Needs paint; solid floors, trunk, underside very clean! needs rust repair bottom corners rear windshield; big paint peels in center of hood and decklid; solid frame, body panels look really good...might have some filler in them, I am not sure Mike Salta Pontiac CA car: dealership was a well known and respected dealer which ordered this super optioned 64 to someone that must have had some pull/clout in the Pontiac/GM sales zone to get this combination of high performance and creature-comfort options
45 B (see photo of stamp on engine block and Pontiac Historic Service document decoding that as 421 HO Tri-Power Muncie M20 4 Speed) Engine Code
1964 Grand Prix with 421 engines did not come from the factory with 421 badges- that is why it does not have them; I have been told 421 was special order only in a 1964 Grand Prix
New complete Saddle Harry Samuels (touted as among the best quality factory reproduction seat covers) interior and new seat foams, New correct carpet in box (although the remaining original carpet in the car still looks really good)
Have all small parts that are not on car (including AC brackets, 2 compressors, headlight bezels, more)
1 of 833 (see photo of Pontiac Historic Services document) 421 HO (370 HP) Tri-Power Muncie M-20 full sized Pontiacs for 1964; not sure how many of those were Grand Prix
(Some number of cars less than 833)
