Rare and original 1961 Bonneville sport coupe Style 61-2837
A wonderful example of a terrific un-restored car that is absolutely gorgeous in Coronado red and tri-tone deep red interior. Car was originally sold in Arizon, then went to Florida, then Atlanta and the current owner bought after an extensive search in 2000 with 61,900 miles. The car has some original paint and some touch up, then interior is all original including the carpets and is just fantastic. This was and still is the owners pride and joy and was used in his wedding and was featured in locale newspaper.
A few years after buying the car in 2000 with 65,000 miles the owner had the engine, transmission professionally rebuilt. When the engine was out the engine compartment was steam cleaned, primed and painted the correct semigloss black. During the mechanical refurbishing there were a few small modifications made to the car as the owner wanted. The intake and carburetor were replaced, engine was painted body color, an GM single wire alternator was installed and lastly the front spring had one coil cut to give the car a nice stance. The dual exhaust had turbo mufflers installed, quit at idle and cruise, but has a nice tone when you step into it.The car drives great and still has good suspension travel. The owner had a custom stereo and speaker system installed. You car see the custom speaker on the floor as he did not want to cut the perfect interior or door panels. The original radio is sill in place and turns on. The minor changes would by easy to return to stock if desired. Just this year the front suspension was completely rebuilt with a Kanter major kit. The brakes were replaced, including wheel cylinders, master and booster.
This Bonneville was built with many nice options, heater, defroster, radio, mirrors, cust cushion front seat, power steering, power brakes E - Z eye glass, and hydromatic transmission.
I have sold many classic cars on e-bay and always have happy buyers. I am a avid Buick club member and own a repair/restoration shop for 35 years. I have inspected the car on a hoist and there is no rust or pimples anywhere. This rust free car still has the factory primer on the floors. I am sure it was always garaged as the interior, door panels and carpets show no signs of moisture.
I am helping the owners sell this wonderful car. The car was never to be sold but health has forced some life changes. I have driven the car many times. This is a well sorted out car that turns a lot of heads and causes a lot of comments every-time you stop.
I welcome phone calls, Steve at 206-755-3420 ( 7 am to 9 pm pacific time) and personal inspections and road test are encouraged. The car is located in the Seattle are, close to the ports and major highway for easy shipping. And yes, you can fly in and drive home and start enjoying this stunning bubble top.
