Someone will become the 4rth owner of this very nice once restored 1971 Pontiac Trans Am. I have owned this car since May of 2000. It has been a source of great pleasure for me and my children. As the third owner, have put some miles on the car, ut it still has just less than 93K miles on the original engine and drive train. Originally, his car was delivered to Cole/Gilmore Pontiac (the key chain & keys are the originals as well) in Kalamazoo, ichigan and has spent its' life in this state. I have PHS documentation for the vehicle as well as some receipts that I have pertaining to certain work completed. The vin number is 228871N102943 which means it was one of the first 3000 Pontiac Firebirds off the assembly line in 1971. This vehicle is one of the very earliest Pontiac Firebirds (Trans Ams) with the HO 455 engine as it was built in the 5th week of August 1970 (Plate Code: 08E). Production for the 1970's didn't even begin until January of '70 due to GM Union strikes. Likewise, t is a numbers matching vehicle. The engine is a WC code which is actually a "left over" block from the Judge line from 1970. Make no mistake; the vehicle is a numbers matching block as the vin number appears on the block as well as the M-22 transmission. The heads are numbers matching "197" coded as they should be. All of the ram air equipment is present and working. The vehicle had a frame up restoration in 1996 by the second owner. The car was stripped down and had everything replaced that was needed. The engine however was rebuilt, ut was only "re-ringed" and not bored. As such, he engine displacement is still a "true 455." All of the ram air equipment is present, unctional, nd runs/operates fine; the original Rochester carb Please feel free to call me at (231)734-2223 between 10AM-10PM EST to discuss. Conditions are: Winning bidder will pay $1000.00 in the first 24 hours, ith the balance of the money owed and car picked up within 7 days.
