Car description

1978 Pontiac Trans AmHere is your chance to own a late 70's Pontiac 6.6 Liter Trans Am with matching engine and transmission VIN, ssuring they are both original to the car. This car was originally purchased by a man in Texas for his wife (as evidenced by entries in the Owner's Manual Comments) and still remains in Texas today. It has never been stored for long periods of time without running and being driven.Engine runssmoothlyand does not smoke. Transmission shifts correctly and smooth through all gears. The only apparent mechanical modifications that have been made to the car is an Edelbrock aluminum intake and matching Edelbrock carburetor. The factory radio has been replaced with a newer AM/FM CD Player, ut the original AM/FM Stereo & Stereo 8 Track Tape Player will be included with the car. In fact, will include a period correct AM/FM Stereo Cassette Player also. 1978 was the first year Pontiac offered a cassette player under RPO/option number UN3. I am not sure of the current operating condition of the two older radios, ince they have not been used since they were removed. I do not know if the factory offered a rear window louver as an option or if it was offered as a dealer installed accessory, ut I will include the 3 piece aluminum louver that was installed on the car. It is in great shape and is designed with a hinge across the top to make window cleaning easy. The car's original jack will be included also.As you can see in the photographs, he interior of the car is inawesome condition, specially for a car that is 37 years old. The underside of the car's frame and suspension is solid with only normal surface rust. It has been repainted in its original color and as you will see in the photos the car has a few rust spots developing under the paint. There are two spots that will need to be patched on the exteriorsheet metal. One is a small hole on the bottom edge of the driver's side front fender vent. The other is a small hole under the edge of the driver's side outside spoiler piece. Both of these spots are shown in photos. The trunk has rust damage on the driver's side which should be easy to repair. Air conditioning does not work.In addition to the Build Sheet, he car has its original 1978 Pontiac Owner'sManual containing notes made by the original owner. It is very apparent by the notes she made in the comments section of the manual that she cherished her Trans Am. Her writings include maintenance information, rips she took, er impressions of the car etc. Also included is the original 1978 Pontiac Maintenance Schedule, he original 1978 Pontiac Consumer Information booklet, nd the "What Is it?" brochure supplied by Goodyear Tire. The "What is it?" brochure describes the space saver tire, ts space saving attributes, s well as its care, se, ndwarranty.Car is being sold in "as is" condition.
